02.01.2022 Hey guys - heres some south coast inspiration in a little video Ive been working on. Be sure to watch in HD! The 2019/2020 bushfire season has been horrific.... There has been loss of life, loss of property and loss of livelihood on an unprecedented scale. The undeniable effects of man-made climate change have greatly increased the ferocity and longevity of this bushfire season and it is the ordinary working Australian that is praying the price for this, not the billionaires who got rich mining fossil fuels. The south coast of N.S.W. has been hit by a terrible double-whammy. An incredible 80% of the region has burnt in the Bega, Clyde, Currowan and Morton fires and the businesses that rely on tourism have been pushed to the edge of ruin. Many of the stores, cafes, restaurants, motels, hotels, AirBnBs, wineries, surf schools and boat hire companies in the coastal and rural villages of the south coast heavily rely on the busy summer period to make enough money to see them through the quieter months. In many cases as much as 80% of their entire annual profit is earned in December and January. The summer visitors were (rightfully) advised to stay away while the fires were burning, but the huge down-turn in visitor numbers has pushed many businesses to the wall. So heres your chance to help the region get back on its feet. The south coast of NSW is a mind-blowingly beautiful part of the world and its just waiting to be explored. As the towns and villages and national parks slowly re-open, its the perfect time to book a trip and explore this incredible part of Australia. Pay a visit to one of the tourism organisations listed below and then swing by the Empty Esky page on Facebook to find out more about supporting the region. I hope that my video, which includes locations from Wollongong all the way down to Bermagui gives you some inspiration and that you get out into these beautiful locations and make a few south coast memories of your own. https://facebook.com/emptyesky/ https://kiama.com.au/ https://www.shoalhaven.com/ https://eurobodalla.com.au/ https://www.sapphirecoast.com.au/ Australia.com Destination NSW Visit NSW Destination Kiama Visit Shoalhaven Eurobodalla - South Coast NSW, Sapphire Coast NSW Dolphin Watch Cruises - Jervis Bay Empty Esky Jervis Bay Tourism Jervis Bay Wild Narooma News South Coast Register Bega District News Visit Huskisson Bermagui Visitor Information Centre Berry, South Coast NSW Visit Kangaroo Valley Bendy Hub #GoWithEmptyEskys
