25.01.2022 What can we do Wednesday? At Community Pharmacy, we love looking after our littlest customers too! We would love to see some of our budding artists work on display, to help us brighten up the Pharmacy. So next time they ask "what can we do?", print out this picture, and get them to use their brightest colours to colour it in.... When you are out and about getting your essentials, we would love you to drop it into the Pharmacy so we can display in-store and bring some colour and happiness into everyone's day. #community #WeCareForYou #communitypharmacy #glenhuntly #communitypharmacyglenhuntly #colourful #colourme #glenhuntlypharmacy #gleneira #localcommunity #wemissyou See more

23.01.2022 Meet The Team Monday! Meet Olga. Olga has been with Community Pharmacy for over 25 years, coming across from our Mt Waverley store. She is known for how dedicated she is to her role and can be found busily processing your prescriptions for you. FUN FACT: She speaks Greek and makes a smashing baklava! Sometimes she even brings some in for her customers and staff, hopefully she will be able to do this again soon, but in the meantime be sure to ask her for her recipe. Olga & all... our staff are concerned about people letting their health & medication needs slip in this challenging time. We are still open as an essential health service, and our Pharmacists are still able to provide medication reviews, check your Blood pressure and review your diabetes needs. We are also available to check your blood glucose monitors and swap them over for new ones. It is more important than ever that you keep up to date with all your health needs. #glenhuntly #medicationchecks #diabetes #healthcare #communitypharmacy #communitypharmacyglenhuntly *Please note all our staff are wearing masks. This photo was taken prior to current mask requirements. See more

22.01.2022 Meet the Team Monday! Meet Hamsa. Hamsa is one of our Pharmacists and has worked across various stores at Community Pharmacy. FUN FACT: Hamsa loves art and painting and often indulges in singing too. Although she's not game enough to apply for Australian idol yet, you might catch her in-store bopping to a song on the radio & she just might belt out a tune for you if you ask her nicely enough. One of the services that Hamsa and our staff love is our medAdvisor app. It allow...s you to keep your prescriptions on file and have both your scripts & pharmacy essentials delivered to your door, all through the app. It makes it easier for managing scripts when you have doctors appointments and keeping on top of all your repeats in one place. #glenhuntly #communitypharmacyglenhuntly #pharmacist #pharmacy *please note our staff are all wearing masks, this photo was taken prior to compulsory face mask requirements.

20.01.2022 Meet The Team Monday This weeks team member is Tracey. Tracey is one of our qualified Dispensary Technicians and has a great knowledge of all things Pharmacy. FUN FACT: Tracey is a devoted mum and also dedicates her time and energy into fostering kids in need. Tracey like many mums in our Community is juggling remote learning and working in-store part-time. She is now working until 2pm on Saturday's with our recently extended trading hours As a Dispensary Tech, she is an... important part of our medication packing service. This allows you, or those that you care for, to have medications pre-packed and organised into daily sachets, making it easier to remember when medicines need to be taken. We can also liaise with doctors to organise prescriptions, and deliver medication sachets directly to you. We can arrange a sample for you, so next time you are in-store please speak to Tracey or one of our staff for more details. #glenhuntly #communitypharmacyglenhuntly #medcationsachets #doseaid *please be aware that our staff are all wearing masks at this time. Photos have been taken prior to the change in mask requirements.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to our prize winners! Major prize; Lesley Borowick & minor prize Anna Lewis. Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you in store to collect your prizes!

19.01.2022 Featured Friday! Today we are featuring our medAdvisor app. You may have seen it mentioned previously in our posts, but in the current climate, we think it is more important than ever to talk about it in order to help limit movement in our community, as well as make things easier for our customers. So what is medAdvisor? medAdvisor is an app that helps you to monitor the supply of your medications, re-order them & even pre-pay & organise for either pick up or delivery. Yo...u can also order your non-prescription items. Some of the features available on medAdvisor are listed below; Fill-My-Scripts and See-My-Doctor Automatically reminds you when to fill your recurring scripts, and chases you up if you forget & also lets you know when you need to visit your doctor for a new prescription. Take-My-Meds Reminds you when to take specific medications each day, at the appropriate times of the day. Tap-To-Refill Tap to order prescriptions & have them dispensed in advance. When you arrive at the pharmacy you can collect them immediately without having to wait. Carer Mode If you are caring for other family members, such as children or elderly relatives you can set up carer mode on your account. Please ask one of our staff members for more details. We are still here to help everyone navigate through these challenging times. #glenhuntly #communitypharmacy #medadvisor #prescriptionmanagement See more

18.01.2022 This year National Diabetes week runs from the 12th to the 18th of July, and more than ever it is so important to ensure you are keeping on top of all your diabetes needs. With so much focus on COVID-19 it is important to make sure that you keep up your medication and regular check-ups with your GP or specialist, as if these things slip it can put your overall health under enormous stress. At Community Pharmacy Glen Huntly we want to make sure that all our customers are kee...ping on top of managing their diabetes. We can offer diabetes meds-checks and are an agent for NDSS, as well as being able to check if the machine you are currently using is the best one for you. Diabetes Australia is a wonderful resource for information and this Diabetes week they are focussing on Diabetes & Mental Health. On Wednesday evening they are holding Heads Together a live online conversation about diabetes and mental health. This will be held from their Facebook page at 7:30pm EST, Wednesday 15th July 2020 https://www.facebook.com/DiabetesAus/ Although Diabetes is a serious disease that cannot be cured it can be managed by ensuring you are educated about its complexities and how to manage them. Please come in and speak to us about what we can do to help you, there are also great resources available from https://www.diabetesaustralia.com.au/ and https://www.diabetesvic.org.au/ #diabetes #communitypharmacy #glenhuntly #healthawareness

16.01.2022 Medication management Monday! Today we are discussing medication sachets. Our medication sachets are a great way to ensure that our customers are able to manage medications easily. The convenience of sachets makes them a great option for those on multiple medications and vitamins, for kids that need to have medication while at school, for those that travel (when we can!), and those caring for others. We are currently offering our customers a FREE* 4 week trial, so if you w...ould like to know more please speak to one of our team members for more information. *Packing cost is normally $6.60 per week. Normal charges apply for medications and vitamins. #medicationmanagment #medicines #wecareforyou #communitypharmacy #localcommunity #glenhuntly

12.01.2022 Following on from our Diabetes Week post earlier this week, educating our customers about how to manage their diabetes is such an important part of our role as Pharmacists. Below is a quick checklist to help with your diabetes management. * Do you have a sick day plan? ... A sick day plan has all the information on how to best manage your diabetes if you are unwell, when your sugar levels often rise. Speak to your GP to set one in place. * Is your blood glucose machine up to date? Machines need to be calibrated regularly, and can also become outdated quickly with rapidly changing technology. Book in for a diabetes medication check with one of our Pharmacists and we can upgrade your machine for free^. * Have you seen a diabetes educator lately? A diabetes educator will work with you, your GP and your Pharmacist to ensure you are up to date with the most recent information to help manage your diabetes. Speak with your Pharmacist for more information. *Do you have the medAdvisor app? The medAdvisor app now allows you to order your NDSS supplies and have them delivered. We can also deliver your medications and pharmacy essentials. Speak to us in-store to help you get this set up. Remember that although you can't cure diabetes, you can manage it with the right plans and support in place. #diabetes #pharmacy #communitypharmacy #glenhuntly ^conditions apply to free meters. 08.01.2022 With the added stress and anxiety we are seeing in many of our customers during this pandemic, sleep is becoming something that is being adversely affected for many. The importance of sleep is often so under-estimated but a good night’s sleep plays a big part in so many aspects of our health. Our Pharmacists and your GP are essential contacts that can provide you with both support and resources to help you through these challenges. Natural alternatives can be discussed with our staff, and additional aids such as vaporisers and oil blends may help create a sense of calm to assist in getting to sleep. We have a range of oils & natural health products available in store. There are also some great resources available through https://www.sleephealthfoundation.org.au

05.01.2022 Today is Jeans for Genes Day. Every minute 12 kids around the world are born with a genetic disease or birth defect. Normally we would be raising money in-store to help fund the research done by the Children's Medical Research Institute, however this year we are having to do things a little differently. So what can you do to help? We would love our customers to post a photo of you in your jeans as a comment on this post. For each photo posted by midnight tonight, Community... Pharmacy will donate $5 to this year's Jeans for Genes fundraising drive! Please let us know and we will of course accommodate your individual needs. #staysafe #community #glenhuntly #weareallinthistogether #facemask

05.01.2022 As most of our customers will be aware, it has now been recommended by Dr. Brett Sutton, Victoria’s Chief Health Officer that where physical distancing is unable to be adhered to, a mask should be worn. There is a lot of information out there and it can sometimes get hard to differentiate what is accurate and what is not. The video link below issued by the DHHS shows you how to correctly wear a mask, should you choose to do so, and also serves as a reminder that we can’t fo...rget to continue to wash hands, practice the correct cough/sneeze etiquette and keep an adequate distance from others. Masks are not a replacement for other important measures, but are an additional tool in helping get this virus back under control. The DHHS has also released guidelines on how to make an effective homemade mask, it’s important to note that the type of materials used and how many layers are required. We will have more disposable masks in store soon and will let you know as soon as we have stock available. Pharmacy is an important part of peoples health care we want to make sure that we are passing on as much accurate information as possible so that we can all get through this second lockdown safely and as quickly as possible. https://youtu.be/nwXJtN2Yt60 https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//Design%20and%20preparation%20

04.01.2022 Talking about it Tuesday. Today we are talking about hay fever. October is the start of pollen season, for many this means it is the start of hay fever and allergy season. We have a range of ways to help with treating the symptoms of hay fever, from natural medicines to nasal sprays, and traditional medications such as tablets or liquids. All our staff have recently completed hay fever and allergy training so come in and speak to them about what may work best for you.... It is so important this Spring that you speak to your doctor or Pharmacist about your symptoms. Hay fever or asthma can produce symptoms similar to coronavirus such as a runny nose, cough or shortness of breath, and while good management can help prevent these, as per DHHS guidelines it is critical to get tested for coronavirus if these are different to your usual symptoms. #hayfever #allergy #communitypharmacy #glenhuntly #supportlocal See more
