08.01.2022 Tangaroa Blue Foundation, through the ReefClean Project, is calling on citizen scientists, schools, community groups, local governments, and all ocean lovers to participate in the GBR Clean-up (www.reefclean.org). This Saturday 08:30-14:00 come along and help clean up Harbour Beach. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers! Please register at www.reefclean.org or email [email protected] The ReefClean program also invites groups to adopt and register their own coas...tal or waterway sites to be cleaned throughout the month, so if you know of a site in your area that needs attention, we encourage you to register that site and get a group together. All debris collected at the clean-ups will be sorted and entered into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative database. This information will help us track litter to its source and prevent it from entering our oceans in the first place.

06.01.2022 MRC Christmas Grants Council is looking to spread Christmas cheer as far as possible thanks to a special festive grant program. For local not-for-profits, these Christmas Grants are the perfect way to secure up to $750 to boost their festive event.... There is $10,000 up for grabs in total. While that money could well be spent on one big central Christmas event, we are committed to spreading festive cheer across all corners of our region. Carols, concerts, fairs, parties and parades council is happy to support anything that really involves local communities and is inclusive. Applications are currently open and are only limited by applicants’ imagination. To apply, they simply log onto the Smarty Grants page on our website and explain when, where and how they plan to celebrate Christmas in their community.
