24.01.2022 Community Recycling WA is excited to provide an update on our Boddington operations. With the support of the Boddington Men’s Shed, we are now able to offer three different days for the community to get involved in the Containers for Change Scheme. Commencing next Wednesday 11 November, our operating hours will be: Wednesday 9am 12pm, ‘Bag Drop’ facility located within the Boddington Men’s Shed... Thursday 9am 1pm, CRWA mobile site located in the carpark behind the Boddington CRC; and Saturday 9am 12pm, ‘Bag Drop’ facility located within the Boddington Men’s Shed. Please note that the new ‘Bag Drop’ facility within the Boddington Men’s Shed operates through the use of a Scheme ID. Place your containers into a secure bag, place a label on the bag with your Scheme ID and we will process these on a Thursday. You can sign up for a Scheme ID by visiting https://www.containersforchange.com.au/wa/. For those that wish to deal only in cash, please come and see us on a Thursday morning behind the Boddington CRC. Siblings Cooper 9 & Saylor 6 and friends Leo 9 & Sienna 5 also are all collecting containers to save up for a set of 30 kilometre walkie talkies so they can always talk to each other. Pinjarra (James St Carpark) - Tuesday ONLY 9am - 1pm Waroona (Town Oval) - Wednesday ONLY 9am - 1pm Mundijong (Mundijong Park) - Thursday ONLY 9am - 1pm Boddington (CRC Carpark) - Thursday 9am - 1pm Kwinana Marketplace - No longer operating. We encourage all of the community to continue to support our not-for-profit business by visiting one of these mobile sites when they come to your area. 13.01.2022 Since the 1st of October 2020 more than 120 million containers have been returned to Western Australia's 212 refund points. All those containers lined up would go from Albany to Kununurra and back. More than 4,100 tonnes of glass, 600 tonnes of aluminium and 400 tonnes of PET plastic will be recycled from containers collected during the first 100 days of the scheme's operation. Containers for Change has also seen more than $500,000 donated via scheme ID for 3,000 community gr...oups and charities. We need to change our thinking about what we do with waste. Drink containers made from glass, aluminium, plastic and liquid paperboard are resources that can be turned into new products, they do not belong in the bin. Containers for Change gives Western Australians an opportunity to be involved in a community-focused recycling scheme that offers community groups and charities another fundraising avenue.
