24.01.2022 Happy National Volunteer Week (18 - 24th May) Pictures is our brilliant treasurer Terry and receptionist Judy at home office, self isolating but still with us Community Support Frankston. Terry has been with us for more than 2 decades and refused to let even a pandemic get in his way! A huge thanks to all our volunteers, we can't wait to start slowly introducing more of you back to the building and appreciate your continued work and support :) #nationalvolunteerweek2020

23.01.2022 Was great to have Frankston City Council's Mayor and CEO down at Community Support Frankston earlier this week, chatting with our staff and volunteers - TEAM WORK :)

22.01.2022 Not a normal start to Homelessness Week 2020 for Community Support Frankston and our partners. Usually we would be getting ready for a much different kind of community support. Stage 4 restrictions will apply from 6pm tonight. We're still here for you Frankston - and we will get through this together 9783 7284

21.01.2022 Pandemic Partnerships - Community Support Frankston feeling greatful to still have friends like Mums Supporting Families in Need Inc. 20.01.2022 Great news that Community Support Frankston will receive additional funding to assist them to help more people during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was proud to work with Steve to apply to the Minister for this important funding. (This photo was taken prior to social distancing restrictions!)

20.01.2022 We've just given out our 50th Healthy Take-Away meal since Wednesday, please collect at Community Support Frankston 12pm - 2pm (Monday to Friday), 35 Beach Street Frankston. Also a should out to our new delivery support volunteer Raeleen and OzHarvest, OzHarvest Melbourne for your continued weekly deliveries, pictured with some of the Frankston Youth Service, Frankston City Council team and CSF team leader Gemma helping with the daily Meals on Wheels meals. And a quick afternoon drop off thanks to Manpreet and the Sikh Volunteers Australia team! It takes a community :)

20.01.2022 We welcome the recent additional funding announcement for Emergency Relief services, including Community Support Frankston, from the Federal Government - helping us to assist more people in need of help. We wouldn't be able to it without the extra hands at CSF, including these amazing people from Frankston Youth Service's, providing much needed support to our staff, volunteers and clients. TEAM WORK!

19.01.2022 We're pleased to advise that Community Support Frankston will be providing warm and healthy take-away meals from 12pm - 2pm commencing Wednesday 6th May, for people living in Frankston. 15.01.2022 Beach162 were one of the first local businesses to reach out to Community Support Frankston when the pandemic hit, wanting to help with cooking meals for people needing help. These meals have been a major part of our home deliveries and we're proud to be launching a special voucher initiative for Frankston families, couples and singles in need to food relief. Please email us at [email protected] or call 9783 7284 for an assessment or more information. It takes a community - team work :)

14.01.2022 Please reach out if you need help - It takes a community

14.01.2022 Demand for Emergency Relief (ER) assistance has doubled in Frankston but the Federal government's recent $4.22 million in funding for greater Melbourne has forgotten us? Community Support Frankston is one of the busiest single outlet providers of Federal Government ER in greater Melbourne, and its only ER partner in the Frankston Local Government Area. Thanks Peta Murphy MP Federal Member for Dunkley for your ongoing advocacy for CSF, and for keeping people's welfare on the agenda. We can't do this without our volunteers, supporters and partners. It takes a community.

13.01.2022 Delivering a learning device to a disadvantaged student, we understand how difficult it is for some families with home school and other arrangements at the moment. Please reach out if you need help 9783 7284 Community Support Frankston

13.01.2022 Our friends from cool rentals dropping off our leased refrigeration van earlier today, couldn't have come sooner enough with food pickups locked in for tomorrow and no vehicle! This will be such a great help to our perishable and non-perishable foods program :)

13.01.2022 Socially distanced return to footy celebrations at Community Support Frankston earlier today. And for anyone struggling with food relief in Frankston, please come down and see us for a free hot cooked take-away meal & fresh fruit bag - Monday to Friday - or call us on 9783 7284 for a friendly ear and other emergency relief assistance (assessments).

13.01.2022 Community Support Frankston is please to announce a new meal voucher relationship with Baba on Wells commencing tomorrow :) Great to be working with and supporting Frankston business owners Vivian & Jenny. It's also great to be in our third year of partnership with Bubbles on Beach owners Nicole & Glynis, providing a laundry service to our homeless and families in need of it. Also a big shout out to our friends Barry the tree doctor in Seaford and actual doctor Mrin Nayagam for recent donations that help us form and further these relationships. Also thanks to Frankston City Council for funds and support as part of the COVID-19 relief and recovery package. Such strong team work in Frankston, it takes a community :)

12.01.2022 Restrictions will be reinstated across Melbourne - including Frankston - but please stop the panic purchasing. It hurts community support centres that will keep supporting you in these uncertain times. Help us to help others - we still need your help https://frankston.net//2/05/Donation-Drop-Off-Flyer-V3.pdf

12.01.2022 Hunger will continue to hit homes and all communities. In past years the feed appeal helped Frankston with fridges, freezers and other equipment. We're all in this together - www.frankston.net

12.01.2022 Please direct all non-perishable food donations to these drop off points - thank you :)

12.01.2022 What a community we live in, volunteer power! 1050 TOTE bags packed across four days last week for Frankston families and others in need of a helping hand this festive season. Community Support Frankston couldn't have pulled this off without the support of our friends and partners, including Operation Larder High Street Uniting Church, Frankston, Frankston City Council, Frankston Football Club, Frankston & District Netball Association (Jubilee Park), Rotary Frankston Sunrise..., Rotary Club of Frankston, Rotary Club of Latitude 38, Paul Edbrooke MP and the many other groups that send volunteers to help! The Frankston Community Appeal celebrates it's 30th anniversary this year and with such a low fundraising year our funds will be stretched for next year without donations and volunteers. So proud to be part of this community - FRANKSTON TEAM WORK :) www.frankston.net

11.01.2022 Teamwork with OzHarvest Melbourne at Community Support Frankston, recovering foods for people in our community struggling to make ends meet, Frankston City Council

09.01.2022 Everyone has the right to secure, safe and affordable housing. If you're struggling to find a mask, please remember that alternative face coverings are acceptable. Today's words from the premier "any covering is better than no covering" and more masks are on their way. PLEASE stay in doors where you can. We are still here for you Frankston. Reach out if you need help.

06.01.2022 Anti-Poverty Week 2020 - In the past 3 months Community Support Frankston has provided 9,120 instances of emergency relief and material aid to people in Frankston. This is a 100%+ increase compared to the same months (July - Sept) last year. More people in our community are experiencing the impacts of poverty, some for the first time. Governments need to commit to delivering adequate supports, wages and payments - and address the issue of people living in Australia - inelig...able for any income, and are suffering. Our broken housing system need fixing Everybody's Home and we can't afford to see people return to brutally low JobSeeker rates at the end of this year Raise the Rate. While we'll continue to serve our clints with a smile, inadequate action & support for our most dissadvantaged will break the backs of volunteers and services such as ours. #RaiseTheRate #RaiseTheRateForGood

04.01.2022 It's likely that JobKeeper payments will also transition into these JobSeeker (formerly newstart) payments in the coming months. People living below the poverty line, isn't a fair go.
