25.01.2022 Absolutely Awesome, Gayle Favro!! Our beautiful, generous, tango lady, Gayle was presented with a bunch of flowers today, by the Awesome Foundation, a group of benefactors who quietly do great things in the community. (You can check them out). Pictured at the pretty little cafe, Orchid & Co, with Richard, and Jan & Paul (another awesome Geelong couple). The Awesome Foundation acknowledges individuals and groups doing a great job in making life that bit better for others. Gayle knits and donates gorgeous toys for Christ Church markets. Some she made for the Christ Church Christmas Market in Geelong (coming up on December 4, 4 - 7pm), are already in the mail to cheer little people overseas and interstate
25.01.2022 We might have had to hang up our tango shoes for the year, but we're still busy doing things as a community in Geelong. Right now, that is working together to create lovely handmade things to sell at the Christ Church Christmas Market - the first time we've been part of this event - and we want it to be a good one. Join us in banishing the Covid blues, and get in the mood for Christmas: FRIDAY, 4TH DECEMBER, 4 - 7pm
25.01.2022 Isn't Nature strange and wonderful? Like dancers sharing the dance floor - so many definitions and representations of beauty. Each one a unique creation, a living link with the past. These plants, seen on our walk today, with their remarkable flower/seed pods were huge, like relics from pre-history
24.01.2022 Nanna Von will be reading from 'The Tales of Cleo and Oscar', stories of two adventurous (and naughty) little cats, at the Christ Church Christmas Market in Geelong, on Friday December 4, at 4.30, 5.00 & 5.30pm. Big kids can listen in too. Yvonne Williams' book features delightful illustrations by John Hughson. The book will be available at the market
24.01.2022 Like a bird on a wire (or a branch), keep trying, in your way, to be free. The dance of life goes on, friends Images by Marilyn
24.01.2022 Seen in Highton, when making an essential trip out for food supplies, not a hair-do

24.01.2022 Limited edition prints of twenty-one beautiful, sensitively drawn portraits of animals drawn by wildlife artist, Stephen Mead can be purchased at the Christmas Market at Christ Church, Geelong - Friday 4th December, 4 - 7pm
23.01.2022 Summer is a' comin' in... peach blossoms in Graham's garden
21.01.2022 A yellow still life created by Maddie, and a recipe for yellow cocktail to sip during our Mellow Yellow Tango social night. The cocktail is the 'Ella Fitzgerald' - bright yellow, created in homage to the basket Ella sang about losing in 'A Tisket, A Tasket' in 1938, her first number one hit Make a rosemary syrup from cup /100 g sugar, 4 rosemary sprigs. Bring cup / 120 ml water and sugar to the boil, then turn down to a low heat Add rosemary sprigs. Simmer for 4 minutes, and allow to cool. Remove rosemary and refrigerate. The cocktail (from the book 'Free the Tipple') 1 shots vodka, shot lemon juice, shot rosemary syrup. Put into a shaker full of ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig

21.01.2022 Pam's happy helpers, making gifts for the Christmas Market. Not yet dancing tango again, but we are celebrating being part of a community. Join us in Geelong. Friday 4th December, 4 - 7pm, Christ Church hall. It's where we dance... corner of Moorabool & McKillop Streets. Help a good cause, buy gifts with a creative difference, enjoy the spirit of Christmas
20.01.2022 Zoom tango class this morning for the Geelong all-stars who are continuing to work to keep their bodies and minds fit for dancing and life
19.01.2022 Awesome Gayle Favro, with Geelong Awesome Foundation Trustee... and some of the beautiful little toys Gayle knits for Christ Church markets
19.01.2022 The all-important pause - the still moment before the move
16.01.2022 Another beautiful yellow photo, from Maddie. Reminds me of floaty yellow dress I will wear again in summer
16.01.2022 Watched this line-up of ducks, all preening themselves, in sequence, like a choreography set in a beauty parlour - at Balyang sanctuary this afternoon
14.01.2022 Here's inspiration for our dancers to keep exercising and practising, to be strong and flexible. Lovely lines, soft movements that look effortless but are so well controlled - and an interesting creative interpretation of that painting behind. A fusion of arts: painting, music, dance
14.01.2022 Our theme for this coming Monday night's 'Tango At Home with Richard and Pam' , our zoom social, is mellow yellow - celebrating all things cheery, joyful, and optimistic. Time to share happiness. We will be taking a time trip through orchestral renditions from different eras of a very 'yellow' tango. A reminder too that yellow is the colour the third chakra - a very important one for dancers: the solar plexus, the engine of dance movement Dress code: yellow. Room decor: yellow
14.01.2022 Can't wait to visit South Australia again - maybe for the Southern Cross Tango Christmas Party?
12.01.2022 Looking for affordable, gorgeous gifts - made with love? Come to the Christmas Market at Christ Church (Friday Dec 4, 4 - 7pm) and discover how multi-talented our tango dancers and friends are
12.01.2022 Flowers and herbs from my garden, plus love & help, to the Market, and hopefully from there to lots of homes for Christmas
12.01.2022 Cutting a swathe through dancers on the floor at a milonga (a Black Rhino drawn by Stephen Mead) - remind you of any dancers you know?
11.01.2022 Thornless summer raspberry plants from Mary Anne for the Christmas Market at Christ Church
10.01.2022 I don't like the aesthetics of the squeaky clean bright painted cranes overlooking Eastern Beach in Geelong. The cranes in the Botanic Gardens are much nicer
10.01.2022 Yes, we know that our tango dancers know about this but it doesn't hurt to be reminded
09.01.2022 Love the spirit of people in our Geelong tango community: sugar and spice and lots of nice, to bring smiles to faces beneath the masks, and help us get through these days
08.01.2022 Sharing the joy and optimism of yellow at Tango At Home social evening with Richard and Pam and the Geelong dancers, this Monday night via Zoom
08.01.2022 Yellow flowers are everywhere in your neighbourhood. Go out and see what you can find.. Wattle (what will) those Geelong dancers come up with next, in their quest to keep tango spirits alive and positive in lock-down? MELLOW YELLOW TANGO - the latest in their series of Tango At Home Social sessions, organised by Pam & Richard, with creative input from dancers, shared on Zoom. Tomorrow (Monday, September 14) at 7pm. Dress in yellow, put yellow flowers in a vase, style a still-life
07.01.2022 A view from the back garden for those who find pink and pretty lifts the spirits. I love watching the honey eaters, large and small varieties delicately sipping nectar from these camellias. I can now see them, from a distance, with one good eye
07.01.2022 A little early Christmas cheer that came to our doorstep, delivered by Louise's daughter Madeleine, a very good young local chef, in the process of establishing her own business. This is her Christmas Rocky Road, made from scratch with home-made marshmallows. It is delicious. The holly is from my garden. Red berries now as it is winter. They will be green for our summer Christmas. Working on ways you will able to order Madeleine's delicious things.
07.01.2022 Meet Foxy, one of the PANTRY CRITTERS we've been making. Hang Foxy on the Christmas tree, then retire him to the pantry, where he will deter pesky little creatures. Pam's been picking and drying herbs and flowers, and working with friends to create the unique Herbie Friends range of gifts. Meet Foxy and friends at the Christmas Market, Friday December 4, 4 - 7pm, in the Christ Church hall, corner of Moorabool & McKillop Streets, Geelong.
02.01.2022 Almost a mask, for our collection of photos, from one of our artists and tango dancers. A truly elegant Tanguera's take on the mellow yellow theme we are having for our Tango At Hmme social tomorrow (Monday) night, on Zoom
02.01.2022 Planning on coming to Geelong for our Christmas Market on Friday? Recommend The Arborist in Little Malop Street for lunch, or Zigfrid's in Pakington St, West Geelong for dinner. Under the same ownership, both offer delicious share plates of Middle Eastern-Mediterranean inspired food, good beverage list. Suggest you book.Pictured: beetroot, walnut, pomegranate, crunchy dill, goat's cheese "meringues'. Yum!!
01.01.2022 Spring is here, so I don't feel so blue - even though blue is the emerging feature colour in the changing palette of my garden: yesterday, star flowers, irises, forget-me-nots, and blue bells opening up
01.01.2022 Kind of like a tango memory - ephemeral. Radiant beauty, then purple tears
