01.01.2022 30th of July 2020 was the offical launch of Spinifex Skateboard, the first Aboriginal skateboarding brand in Australia. The night kicked off with skating demons...trations by youth and professionals alike. The founder of Spinifex Skateboard Brand, Arrernte man from the community of Santa Teresa Nick Hayes, is Australia’s first certified Aboriginal skateboard instructor. Mr Hayes states that any young skate boarders from his community will have the support and sponsorship of Spinifex Skateboard if they decide to pursue skateboarding as a career. There was a great turnout at the Watch This Space art gallery in Alice Springs, where they watched two films to kick off the launch of the brand and announced the launch of the Spinifex Website. To find out more about Spinifex Skateboard, visit their official website at https://www.spinifexskateboards.com/ And for more Aboriginal stories, visit us at caama.com.au
