07.01.2022 Compact Speedcars.... News on the up coming Alan Streader Perpetural Trophy it is to be held by running 2 x 17 lap meetings. Fortunately, Alan was in attendance... at Valvoline Raceway for round 1 2019/20. Although he was not particularly well he was beside himself & relished this race in his honour with his children present. Alan enjoyed the opportunity to meet & spin a yarn with his mates. A special thank you to Valvoline Raceway for making a corperate box available. Unfortunately, we lost our mate not long after. The 2nd meet was to proceed at Wangaratta but Covid put paid to that. The winner of the inaugural Alan Streader Perpetual Trophy was won by Shaun Robinson NSW #73, congratulations well done mate & always remember the great man was your witness. The running of 2020/21 prestige event round 1 is penned for Valvoline Raceway October 10 & round 2 Wangaratta November 7. Both Feature Races are 17 lap journey's totally 34 laps representing Alan's racing number. I guess both subject to Covid. So, race fans this is 1 event you should not miss, I for 1 would like my name on Alan's Trophy, maybe a come back is in the wind, well may be not, I wish Shaun all the best to get a 2nd plaque as well as best wishes to all competitors for a fruitful & safe campaign See more

07.01.2022 A popular saying is that, 'a picture says a thousand words'. This picture was taken after the title race. A club official is explaining the differences about chain drive and diff drive to an interested enthusiast (perhaps a potential driver?) To the left you can see shadows of the V11 team as they perform a post race debrief. To the left of centre you can see the Vic title winning A1, quietly sitting as parked after coming off the track, resting after performing to the high s...tandards its driver demanded of it. Further into the photo you can see Justin Paull telling a tale about his efforts in the title race, whilst others are congratulating Tania Hallett on her excellent night behind the wheel. There are stories, similar to those mentioned above, that happen after every VCSC race. If you would like more information about compact speedcars and the VCSC please send us a message See more

02.01.2022 AUSTRALIAN COMPACT SPEEDCAR CHAMPIONSHIP. A DE-VINE WIN! (News Item Rushworth Speedway May 2015) DARREN VINE’S win set a record that will set a record tha...t will take a long time to beat - an unprecedented sixth National title AND a hat-trick of three in a row! Thirty-one entries from three states presented for the title event with defending champion Vine arriving as the favorite. He did not disappoint. Two Queenslanders - Vine and Wayne Corbert - were on the front row of the grid and Geoff Meyers capitalised on his local track experience to start from position three. NSW driver Alan Day was in four with the top eight starters filled out by Darren Dillon (Qld), Craig Hickey (NSW), Tony Aulsebrook (NSW) and Mark Cecil (Vic). The heats were generally run without incident - with the exception of heat five with a stoppage when one of the favorites, Rob Eyeington, rolled in an incident with Will Vanderark. The full moon was playing hide-and-seek with the clouds to set a picturesque scene at Rushworth Speedway as the cars came onto the track for the 30 lap final. The club had re-graded the track following the heats and this resulted in a smooth and very fast track for the final. The first stoppage occurred on lap five when Mitch Biner attacked the concrete, putting him out. At the re-start Vine was not about to let the leader Corbert escape and sat right on his tail with these two opening an increasing lead on the rest of the field. Some 20 or so laps followed with an incredible battle royal for the lead continuing and a number of changes also developing further back in the field. It was apparent Vine was unable to effect a pass on Corbert, even though they were now travelling through traffic, and it would take a mistake on Corbert’s part to let Vine through. And that was just what occurred on lap 25 when Corbert spun. The resulting stoppage saw race leader Corbert allocated to rear of field, thus putting paid to any chance of a podium finish after what had been a brilliant drive. Retirements with flat tyres took out Craig Hickey and Travis Mills. Vine therefore inherited the lead with Darren Dillon, Mark Cecil, Geoff Meyers and Tony Aulsebrook making up the top five for the re-start. With a clear track in front of him, Vine opened a significant gap. Dillon retained second with Meyers executing a pass on Cecil with one lap to go, putting the Shepparton-based workmates in third and fourth place respectively. It was Vine, Dillon, Meyers, Cecil and Aulsebrook to take the chequered flag and stand on the podium. Just 10 cars completed the race with Vine stopping the Mylaps computer at 16.656 seconds for his fastest lap during the final, clocking a speed of 95.101 k/ph. Interestingly, Corbert had returned a lap time of 16.662 secs, just 0.006 sec short of Vine’s time, indicating there was virtually nothing between the two during their epic battle. ..Ray Read PHOTO: podium finishers (left to right): Tony Aulsebrook (NSW, fifth), Darren Dillon (Qld, second), Darren Vine (Qld, first), Geoff Meyers (Vic, third), Mark Cecil (Vic, fourth).
