22.01.2022 We love sharing the awesome creations of our homeschoolers. Check out Brandons design project. Heres what Brandons proud dad had to say: "He had to take a famous artist, and make a 3d cube, and put something about the artist and some of their fellow artists from the same genre on one of the faces. He chose the famous Japanese Manga Artist-Rumiko Takahashi, of Inuyasha and Lum Fame. This really was great cos we love Anime and Manga and it gave him the chance to break away f...rom older, more traditional artists, and gave him the chance to work on something he really enjoys. They Also said think outside the box so thats just what he did. Here is a collection of pics and the finished box itself. Hes especially proud of his scrolls that can be pulled out to read about other artists :) A lot of work, but worth it" Great job Brandon Thinking of trying homeschool? Want to try it out for FREE? Creative and visual learning is enhanced through our technology, not replaced by it. There are lots of hands-on activities in the Free Week you can download on our Complete Education Australia website

19.01.2022 Weve all suddenly found ourselves on a new and unfamiliar road. There are no maps and we have no idea of when the journey will end. Were making it up as we go along and hoping that well get there in the end. There will be highs and lows, good days and bad. Homeschooling is new and unexpected for so so many parents out there. They didnt get to choose or have time to wrap their heads around it before they were in it. On those days where everything feels like its too much,... remember that you are not alone. There are many community homeschool support groups on Facebook. You can tell your story, your struggles and hear the stories of those around you. So many people have come together ready to lift you up and support you when you need it. We created a group made up of our veteran homeschool families ready to help you and provide advice based on their years of experience - what worked and didnt work for them. Its called Schooling from Home Australia - Curriculum & Parent Support/e-Learning. This is just one of the groups out there, there are many. Just reach out and someone will be there for you.
19.01.2022 We wanted to share these great pics from a brand new homeschooler. Celestia in year 2 has just started homeschooling with Complete Education and her Dad shared these, saying: "Celestia loves the lessons so much, she really doesnt want to stop! Here she is working on her handwriting, her math, and a Salvador Dali inspired Chameleon. Thanks CEA! The smiles speak for themselves." If you want to give homeschooling a try head to our Complete Education Australia website. You can take the quiz, download a free week for your grade or if you have questions, you can book in a chat

18.01.2022 With almost 1 in every 200 Australian children registered for homeschool education (and just as many unregistered), homeschooling is the fastest growing education demographic in the country. With Homeschooled kids scoring on average 70 points higher than those in school in NAPLAN testing, you can see why people are turning to this more flexible option in droves. Education is an important and individual choice for every family and child. ... Take the Quiz to see if its a fit for your family

16.01.2022 We love this art project Haru in Grade 5 completed this week. 1. He had to make little foil people or animals 2. Then shine a light on them to capture an unusual shadow 3. Then draw the shadow. ... Thanks, David, Harus dad for sharing these with us. He was very proud "Heres another smile! CEA, these smiles are beginning to become a habit for him :) Thanks!" If you want to try out the CEA program for the holidays you can do this activity and also download a free week for your kids grade at our website
15.01.2022 What can I say? What a classic idea! Havent we all felt like that, at times.
15.01.2022 Routine is important for homeschooling, and letting kids help set their daily routine is a great way to increase their motivation. One idea for your routine could be to set a timer for both the kids and parents to each get a specific activity completed. For the child, it could be a maths lesson, and for the parent, it could be something they need to complete for work or a job around the house. Then when the timer goes off, go over the activity with them and talk it through.
15.01.2022 How valuable it is to develop creativity or work at something, simply for the joy it brings!

14.01.2022 Some kids might be loving the thought of being off school for a few weeks. The reality, however, is that once the novelty wears off, most kids will be feeling anxiousness coming from us, the adults as we try and deal with our emotions through these challenging times. Our feelings and worries are infectious. Our kids need positivity, comfort and love. We may not feel equipped right now to put that out. But its a lot like laughing yoga, once you pretend to laugh, it turns into the real thing. Scientific studies have shown that laughter has an effect similar to antidepressants releasing serotonin, the happy chemical in your brain. Look up laughing yoga for kids and schedule it into your homeschool day. It might just do you as much good as it does the kids.

07.01.2022 Need some school holiday activities for the kids? Heres a fun one you can give to your kids at home AND itll give you street cred too. This is part of our Grade 8 CEA Visual Arts Curriculum. We also have a whole week of activities you can download for free on our website.... They will need: - Coloured pencils - Coloured markers - Black marker, - Lead pencil - Coloured paper - Glue, scissors Step 1: Select a font. There are three examples provided. More can be found online. Step 2: Using lead pencil, draw your name in the chosen font. Step 3: Look carefully at the font, as many times some lines are thicker than others. Using a black marker, go over the outline and add any thicker lines. Step 4: Use coloured pencils to shade your name. Some areas can be dark in colour and others light. You can use coloured markers if you prefer. Step 5: Cut out the name. Cut out two pieces of coloured paper in a shape you like. Jagged edges look great. Ensure it is larger than the name itself. The example above shows two shapes of coloured paper overlapping, which also looks great. Glue the name to the coloured paper shape. Step 6: The background paper can be completed. This is done by collage. Lay the name and coloured paper on the background page to work out how much area you will need to cover. Cut small pieces of coloured paper, or foil and glue them in a design on the background paper. The example above makes it look like a wall. The one below just creates a pattern. Then put it in your room or on the door of your bedroom. Visual Arts Theory: Graffiti has existed since ancient times, and so has the controversy surrounding it is it vandalism or is it art? Often, the only difference is a matter of gaining permission from the property owner. Street artists, or urban artists are terms that are often used to differentiate those whose intentions are to create artwork from those who are intentionally being destructive. Whatever the intentions may be, the legality of creating it is the first and most important question to be raised. Today, more so than ever before, graffiti-style street art is being recognised around the world as a true art form. The artists who create it publish books, videos, and films and sell prints and photographs of their work. Many prefer to remain anonymous; to be recognised only for their work. The notorious street artist Banksy has created art all over the world, been nominated for an academy award, and been shown in major galleries... all while remaining mysteriously unknown.
