The front and lateral dumbbell raise is a great exercise to target these muscles. Start with light weights if you’re a beginner as this exercise is quite challenging for shoulder stability! We love throwing different and challenging exercises at him because he is a champ at giving things a try! Here is what Tim has to say about staying active with us:... My biggest achievement at CHOP has been coming from having on-again/off-again lower back pain every other week, to being virtually free of back pain! It has had a massive positive effect on my life and has allowed me to be much more active without the feeling that a seemingly normal, day-to-day movement may cause another flare-up to occur. All clients will require a specific referral letter from either their regular GP or specialist in order to attend face-to-face appointments at Complete Health as of 11:59pm TONIGHT. All clients who have appointments from tomorrow (Thursday) will need this referral. If you have a current care plan for Osteopathic services, you are allowed to attend the clinic.... What something you have wanted to try but haven't yet? Ive always wanted to try to become a morning person and jump out of bed before the birds sing. Unfortunately, I am forever finding myself rolling out of bed just in time to get ready for work, something tells me my commitment to this goal is lacking. . 3. Pull ups, I love them because there are so many regression exercises to learn the pull up, and once the pull up is mastered, there are so many variations to make them even harder! Telina has been dedicated with her strength sessions here at CHOP for the past few months and is kicking goals left right and centre. This is her first time trying a floor press with the barbell and she is killing it at her 3rd set of 25kg! Here is what she has to say about participating in regular exercise:... . My biggest achievement: No more lower back or sciatic pain. After my first couple of sessions I noticed a huge difference in that area of my body and I had been struggling with it for years. That motivated me to keep going. I'm still correcting a couple of postural issues with my hip and shoulder, but I also exercise so that I can get my body stronger and continue to improve my quality of movement and balance. I feel my core is still something I need to work on, so my main goal is to continue building up the strength in that area to get my body to where it should be. . This could you be you! 11.01.2022 HOW TO WEAR A MASK 101. . Always make sure you wash and dry your hands before fitting your mask! If you are using a disposable surgical mask, make sure it is the right way around (usually blue side out) and the right way up (metal strip at top). If you have a small face, tie knots into the elastics so they form a smaller side (see video in comments). OTHERWISE, hold the mask by the elastic ear loops and place it over your face, then put the elastics around the back of your ...ears. Pull down the bottom of the mask around your mouth and chin. Then finally pinch the metal nose strip to seal off the mask. There should be minimal airflow escape when the mask is fitted well. Avoid touching the outside of the mask where possible. If you do touch it, make sure to clean your hands ASAP! Replace with a new one if it gets damp or soiled. When removing the mask, try to only touch the ear loops, and then make sure to wash your hands. . WE REMAIN OPEN AS AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE! The directive from the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) allows us to see patients face-to-face under the following criteria: 1. To prevent significant deterioration in functional independence which would result in escalation of care. 2. For assessment and diagnostic purposes for people who have had to delay care during Stage 4 restrictions, where further delay is likely to result in deterioration.... 3. To provide essential pre- or post-operative surgical care. In regards to our Clinical Exercise sessions in the clinic, only 1 on 1 sessions are permitted (no groups) and you must meet the above criteria. All other patients must remain on Telehealth Zoom. Please don't hesitate to call the clinic if you need further clarification about these restrictions.
