01.01.2022 Runaway Diesel Warning if you own a diesel powered vehicle you may find this video very interesting ... On Monday Steve from Complete Auto Care Bundaberg came across a Nissan Navara on Takalvan street with a runaway engine. Extremely similar to the video below. ... Even though the owner had switch the vehicle OFF & REMOVED keys the engine was still running away with full revs. Steve pulled over to assist and immediately put it into 2nd gear and stalled the engine , Luckily it was a manual transmission, as automatics are a whole lot harder to rectify. Most likely cause is a failed oil seal in the turbo, feeding the engine with oil. This can be due to lack of servicing and regular inspection of the intake system.
