15.01.2022 In Australia, 75% of suicides are male, with suicide being the leading cause of death for people aged 15-44. Males over the age of 85 also suffer the highest age-specific rate of suicide. To help us raise awareness as a part of "Movember", you can share this post. Alternatively, you can donate to our team's fundraising effort at https://movember.com/t/complete-rehab?mc=1

13.01.2022 Managing your endometriosis Endometriosis is a life-long chronic condition that affects 1 in 10 women. This condition affects the reproductive system, where the endometrial- like tissue grows outside the uterus and onto the ovaries, bowel, fallopian tubes, intestines, and in other areas of the body. Endometriosis can cause symptoms including pelvic pain and cramping, inflammation and bloating, which can impact an individual’s physical, emotional and mental health.... Regular, individualised exercise can help manage experienced symptoms, improve pain tolerance, reduce inflammation, increase exercise tolerance and improve mental health. To seek guidance on your journey to re-establishing your movement after endometriosis diagnosis, book in with one of our Women’s Health Accredited Exercise Physiologists today.

09.01.2022 Our amazing Occupational Therapist, Grace, presented at the 2020 La Trobe Rural Health School Annual Research Conference yesterday. 08.01.2022 It's "Exercise Right" Week and we are sharing some stories of our lovely clients . Leanne is a vibrant and happy woman who comes to Complete Rehab through her NDIS funding. Leanne is living with Multiple Sclerosis which unfortunately affects her ability to walk and complete her activities of daily living. Through the help of our exercise physiology program at home with her little dog Crystal, and in the Hydrotherapy pool at Lawnton, Leanne is able to concentrate on strengthening the muscles in her legs to start to improve her walking and mobility around the home and out in the community!

08.01.2022 Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) FMS is a life-long condition characterised by chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain, stiffness and tenderness. It is also often accompanied with fatigue, sleep disturbances, IBS symptoms, depression, anxiety and diminished functional status. The severity of associated symptoms varies between individuals, so no one person presents the same. There is no cure for FMS so multidisciplinary treatments are used to manage symptoms. Our team at Complete R...ehab can provide the patient-centred care to help individuals manage their FMS. We offer Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Dietitian services that, in combination, can improve your pain, reduce fatigue, improve sleep quality, increase physical functioning and improve IBS symptoms. To manage your FMS, book in at one of our clinics today, or we can come to you!

07.01.2022 Complete Rehab practitioners (Matt, Ryan, Kevin & Jake) are growing out their facial hair to raise funds for men's health during November. Movember exists to raise awareness for Men's Health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's suicide. If you'd like to help us change the face of men's health, check out our fundraising page at https://movember.com/t/complete-rehab?mc=1

06.01.2022 There are many benefits for exercise and cancer, and men are notoriously bad at going to the doctor and getting checked for the regular prostate and testicular cancer checks. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 6 Aussie men, and globally testicular cancer is the most common cancer that affects men aged between 15-39 years old. That's why this month we have taken seriously the conditions that affect men to go and get checked out. Thank you for all of your support and we are more than happy to pass on over $500 this month to the Movember foundation. Head to the Movember website for more information on anything on the topics covered across the month.

03.01.2022 Falls are highly prevalent in the older adult population, with one-third of older Australians falling every year, resulting in falls being the leading cause of injury-related death and hospitalisation in these populations. Falls can result in serious injury, permanent disability, decreased independence, reduced quality of life and loss of confidence. Evidence shows that exercise can be beneficial in reducing risk of falls through improvements in muscular strength, confidence... in movements, mobility, balance and functional capacity. Balance training exercises involve safe but challenging controlled movements with reduced support. Here at Complete Rehab, our balance classes are based on the current research for falls prevention and include a variety of movements which challenge individuals' perception of their body, strength and confidence in their ability to complete complex movement tasks. If you are interested in more information about our balance class, please give us a call on (07) 3889 3202.
