23.01.2022 Such a fantastic trial done proving the role of nutrition in treating depression! After three months of eating a 'modified Mediterranean diet' including fresh fruit, vege, whole grains, legumes, nuts, olive oil, fish and decreasing process foods and sugar saw a significant reduction in depression symptoms. After the three months, 1/3 met the criteria for remission of major depression.. This is huge and so encouraging!!! As Hippocrates said: "food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food".

Make sure your diet is rich in iron-containing foods like: - red meat. - poultry. - pork. - dark green vegetables - leafy greens. - nuts. - beans and legumes. To increase the intake of iron combine with Vitamin C rich foods like: - bright coloured fruit & vege (esp. Kiwi, orange, capsicum, kale broccoli). 18.01.2022 Often I hear people complaining how expensive healthy food is. Yes this is true (kinda), but not when you consider the fact that when you eat 'crap' food you 1) eat more to feel satisfied & full 2) eat more often as you get hungry sooner 3) eat more as you are often nutrient deficient causing you to be tired, emotional, hangry, lethargic and craving... 14.01.2022 People often think that cutting out whole food groups equals being more healthy. This is not the case! I never (unless for very good reason, diagnosed or short term) advocate completely cutting out whole good groups. Here is a prime example of going gluten free causing other health issues. "Gluten" is not evil, what we gave often done to it, is what is causing the issues!
