23.01.2022 We were fortunate to have Hope Foley present a webinar for our members last year. If you missed it, the recording is available in the Members section of the CMA website. Below is Hope’s latest research article on chronic health conditions! https://www.uts.edu.au//fa/news/caring-chronic-conditions

23.01.2022 Here's the recent Rapid Review brief on Vit C completed by the #wnf. Oral vitamin C may assist with the symptoms of acute respiratory viral infections (ARI) and common cold-induced asthma, but no studies have been identified justifying oral vitamin C for the prevention or treatment of coronavirus infections including COVID-19. When taken at onset of ARI, oral vitamin C may reduce the duration of symptoms including fever, chest pain, chills and bodily aches and pains. It may... also reduce the incidence of hospital admission and duration of hospital stays. For individuals admitted to hospital with community-acquired pneumonia, vitamin C may improve respiratory function in more severe cases. No major adverse events nor interactions were reported by either method of administration. However, there is an absence of high quality, contemporary clinical research examining this topic. Current evidence suggests further studies are needed to better understand the value of both oral and IV vitamin C for ARI, including COVID-19. Check it out below

18.01.2022 I have worked as a Naturopath for 25 years, and my favorite healing modality has always been homeopathic. It’s gentleness, its resonance and its incredible balancing powers have never ceased to amaze me. I am fortunate enough to have animals and birds amongst my beautiful clientele so I thought I might periodically share some animal and bird healings. I will start 2 weeks ago. I inherited a 2 day old chick which someone had found wondering on its own in the street. My chi...cks were 12 weeks old, so too old to accept Inky. I therefore purchased 2 more wee chicks to keep her company, however being a strong and determined survivor, she resented them and pecked one little babe quite viciously. When I first purchased this pair, the smaller little fluffy one, 2 days old, had not smelt right and was fluffed up obviously not very well and I usually try to pick the underdog. After the bullying episode she sat with eyes half closed and I had to clean off crusted droppings. I separated it into a safe and warm little aviary and gave 2 drops of rescue remedy and 4 drops of Sanum Fortakehl into 500ml of drinking water. She survived the night with her little mate, but still smelt unwell, eyes often half closed and crusty bottom, but drinking and making feeble peckings. Treatment the same. The next day, a bright, happy, clean perky little chick would not have survived without homeopathy, warmth and safety. Happy Healing Rosemary Jacobs (Board member and student support)

17.01.2022 In September the federal government asked for submissions by stakeholders towards the National Preventative Health Strategy. The CMA, along with ARONAH & NHAA submitted our thoughts under the ANC banner. We emphasised the important roles that naturopaths play in preventative health within the community already, & where we may be involved with further input in the future. You can find more info & our submission here:... https://www.naturopathiccouncil.org.au//consultation-pape/ See more

09.01.2022 This time of the year the CMA Board are usually meeting in Currumbin QLD for our AGM & workshop weekend - this year as you know, it's a little different??!! As President, I would like to offer sincere thanks to all the Board members & our office administration that contribute to the success of serving our members, & day to day running of the association...& particularly for supporting me during these challenging times. With the uncertainty that has been ever present this year, our administration staff have tried to be up to date with the latest health & work restrictions to share them with our members particularly to those in Victoria where they have been hit particularly hard. Don't forget that we are here to support you, even if that's just to be the ear to listen to your concerns when needed. Thank you to both Tammy & Vikki for all the work they do at the ‘coal front’, especially during these unprecedented times. It would normally be time to celebrate with the Board members for all the voluntary hours we put in throughout the year...hopefully we will be doing this again soon. Thank you for ALL your hard work this year. Please remember we always warmly invite our CMA members to join us at our AGM - we would love to personally meet you...hopefully in 2021! Yours Sincerely, Kristy Hollis (CMA President).

05.01.2022 Here's the latest review of research on Vitamin D by the #wnf

02.01.2022 With Mental Health Week upon us, here's an important reminder of Vitamin D & how it can benefit our health in many ways. Here's the Rapid Review II : Brief Overview of Findings Vitamin D: http://worldnaturopathicfederation.org/.../The-effects-of... Experimental evidence and observations in large cohorts are generally consistent that deficiency and insufficiency of vitamin D is associated with increased risk of ARTI, and supplementation for those with deficiency/insufficie...ncy may lead to clinically meaningful reductions in the incidence of ARTI. Based on significant heterogeneity in published clinical trials there is however, insufficient evidence to draw conclusions regarding the impact of vitamin D supplementation on the severity or duration of ARTI, nor on outcomes related to lung injury or hospitalization from ARTI. Thank you #WNF See more

01.01.2022 Just a reminder for you to be able to share with your patients, family & friends. Thank you #wnf
