Magnesium Glycinate is one of the highest absorbing forms of magnesium providing high levels of magnesium in the body.... Magnesium Glycinate is also one of the gentlest forms of magnesium providing minimal side effects compared to other forms of Magnesium. This includes upset stomach and diarrhoea. Also, our compounded formula does not contain any other ingredients that can be harmful to the body. Some products contain added ingredients that can cause increased blood pressure or nausea. The beneficial effects have been observed in a variety of patients with many forms of pain such as: Malignancy-related neurologic symptoms Post herpetic neuralgia Diabetic neuropathy Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy Dysmenorrhea Headaches Acute migraine attacks Magnesium balances out calcium which in turn relaxes nerve cells and stops them from firing pain signals. Magnesium has a significant role in preventing central sensitisation as well as reducing established pain hypersensitivity. It is apparent that Magnesium's primary mode of action involves its voltage-gated antagonist action at N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors. Pain signalling can be prevented by blocking the neural influx of calcium.
