24.01.2022 Inspecting a pair of inboard 5.7ltr Pentas in the lead up for the boating season for a client last week and uncovered some serious faults which can lead to extensive damage to the internals of the engines. The risers for the exhaust system on both motors were noticeably corroded externally, water leeching out of these joins means there will also be water entering the engine internals and may be directing that water straight to the cylinders, leading to downtime and an expensive repair or engine failure. Get your boat checked by a skilled technician with attention to detail before the mad rush this summer to get out on the water.

23.01.2022 Assessing a pair of caterpillar 3208s and found some heavy corrosion on the internals of the engine. These engines have been sitting in the water unused for quite some time. The moist and humid conditions have affected the steel and alloy parts as the engine oil has returned to the sump. ... This is what you avoid by regularly starting and running your engines. I offer a regular service and checking package to ensure this doesnt happen to my customers vessels. Unfortunately for these cats it will be engines out for a complete overhaul.

17.01.2022 Resealing a volvo penta stern drive. You can see the cream coloured oil, indicating water entry into the outdrive, the upper and lower units were resealed and reinstalled. The props had some heavy cavitation burn also and were replaced. New anodes fitted and shes good for another 200 hrs. #volvopenta #sterndrive
15.01.2022 Some pics of a recent job which has been completed. A total of 4 x 150kva gensets all lined up and completed back to back. Performed a top end overhaul to keep the motor reliable and efficient for the customer.
12.01.2022 A nice way to finish off a big week! A hull clean and some engine fault diagnostics. The owner said his vessel was putting out a heavy black smoke and the engine was labouring, he suspected the hull was in need of a clean. The hull was cleaned in under 1 hr and further investigation found the air filters were old and partially blocked. 2 new air filters installed and issue was solved. ... 10.01.2022 I have been busy these past few months. Rebuilding a Caterpillar 140M grader with marine treatments for salt mining operations. These treatments take the machine life on the mine from 6 months total life expectancy, out to 3 years before having to be fully stripped and the whole process applied again. #Caterpillar #140M #saltspec

Carried out some work on the Bertram, a full engine service, valve lash adjustment, re hosed and hull clean. 07.01.2022 Up until recently my service has only been available to a select few customers and their vessels. My goal has been to maintain each of my customers vessels to the highest of standards to ensure each outting is safe and worry free, I have been successful thus far and wish to expand my service availability! 04.01.2022 This can be one of the major issues with using your boat all summer and leaving the vessel untouched for the winter. To avoid this problem give me a call to book in a service before storing your boat for the winter.
