24.01.2022 Here is a good example of copper plating on this #bitzer 4T, Copper plating is caused by acidic oil which leaches copper from the pipework and deposits it in the hottest locations (usually moving parts) note the vale plate with suction cut off capacity regulation has more plating than the other valve plate. @ Compressor Rebuilding Service

22.01.2022 Took a while but found the leak on this Duhnam Bush Big 4 this week. Strait through the casting on the new seal plate. Lucky I bought 2 for a spare. We used the second seal cover plate and all good #aussiehvac

21.01.2022 I lashed out and got the Bitzer green made into spray cans for touch ups. Butt had to order way more than I need if anyone is keen for a can or 2. I won't charge the Actrol price either. #compressorrebuildingservice

20.01.2022 Been a bit slac on the socials of late, we have been busy getting some jobs out the door before Christmas, here is the before and afters on the #stal #s57e screw rotors we got back from the machine shop a few weeks back, ark sprayed and re-ground back to oem sizing. More to come on the rest of the build shortly.

19.01.2022 Continuing on with the #stal teardown, the #s57e this make of screw has radial ball bearings to support the radial thrust combined with journal bearings. On inspection of the journal bearings they apprar verry chewed up, and after measuring they are actually undersized from material being deposited on the bearing surfaces. The last photo shows how material is wiped and re deposited, this is due to a lack of oil. More to come!

18.01.2022 Here is the finished product from the #Hitachi #screwcompressor build the other week. All ready to be shipped out! Was a great build due to the easy design.

18.01.2022 Heres a little bubba #gea #bock F2 open drive compressor off a trawler from the other day. It came in with flogged out frount bearing / shaft seal leaking. The lead time on new bearings meant the customer went new on this occassion.

16.01.2022 Termination day on a couple of #bitzer 4 cyl compressors and 06E #carrier. All three of these compressors will go into our re-manufactured shelf stock. We are slowly building the shelf stock up to hopefully provide a same day service on the popular models.

16.01.2022 Follow up to the post the other week, we continued to pull the HSK7471 comp down and we found a bunch of other dramas, screw rotors touching the body and also the bearing flange. If the motor had'nt blown this thing wasent far off seizing. No idea on the hours on this thing to comment wether it was overdue for new bearings. Customer ended up going new due to the amount of damage. @ Compressor Rebuilding Service

16.01.2022 Now thats an impressive motor blow on this #carrier 06DR241 looks like this one has lost oil which resulted in bearing failure creating rotor drag creating metal shavings which eventually lead to an earth blow. @ Compressor Rebuilding Service

16.01.2022 Here is a few quick snaps of a CHHP #trane screw we did a reseal and new bearings on a few weeks back. Rotors were clean as could hardly tell they did any service. The main sealing face was quite tarnished where it had been leaking past the main sealing O-ring. Bit of a wait on a blanking flange so we could pressure test it once we were done but we got there in the end. #aussiehvac #aussierefrigeration #hvac #hvaclife #refrigerationlife #refrigeration

16.01.2022 Follow up from the #Hitachi screw teardown, everything looking pretty good, no rotor to body contact and super clean which is great. These things are well designed and easy to pull apart when you have a few special tools (made for this task) the bearing retainer nuts are the only difficult part of this teardown. Gaskets are ordered and motor is being rewound. Time to order bearings and start cleaning. #aussierefrigeration #aussiehvac #refrigeration #hvac

14.01.2022 Heres a doosie from a #carrier 06D compressor we started a re-manufacture on a few weeks back, circlip in the piston failed and let the piston pin scrape up and down the bore for a long time. 13.01.2022 Today's task is a quick re seal on a #GEA #Bock HAX4/465-4. These things have a bit of a different design in that the motor is not cooled by the suction gas. They air cool the motor housing by means of external fan and shroud. #compressorrebuildingservice #australianhvac #aussiehvac

12.01.2022 Final post about the #stal teardown, i will elaborate further on the previous work that has been done to this compressor (previous rebuild), upon dissambly we noticed the male drive rotor had some marks on the rotor face (discharge end) we originally thought radial bearing failure (rotors then collide with the body) until we spotted the body fix. The previous rebuild has had this housing line bored and a plate installed to bring the discharge face back to its oem position. #aussierefrigeration #aussiehvac #refrigeration #refrigerationlife #hvac #hvaclife

10.01.2022 Our bearing flange for the CSH8573 screw has arrived! Brand new all the way from Bitzer Germany, it has taken a few weeks as these are made to order. You can really notice the indents in the flange face where the rotor dug in to the old one.
