25.01.2022 Comtech is delivering Telecommunications and HSE training in South Australia at our full-time training centre located within the Construction Industry Training Centre - Regency Park. We have a WorkReady contract issued by the SA State Govt, which allows potential students to access subsidised training. If individual criteria are met under WorkReady funding, the compulsory fee is reduced to $400 for each qualification. This funding is a commitment by the SA Government to upsk...ill our telecommunications industry and attract new entrants to the industry through heavily subsidised training. 22.01.2022 Dealing with the COVID19 pandemic has become a way of life for Comtech Training and our students. We have implemented the following practical solutions (amongst others) to become COVID-safe: - Introduction of online, live webinars and online training to significantly reduce face-to-face class days... - A reduction in class sizes to ensure 1.5m separation and 1 person per 4m2 rule - Installation of additional practical equipment and practice boards for individual use - Purchasing & reconfiguring desks to ensure individual workspaces - Additional classes scheduled to allow companies to send staff during a downturn of work - Regional training in localised areas to reduce students' travel to our full-time training centres Unfortunately, "Pizza Friday" has been cancelled for the students, but we guarantee the standard of training has never been higher or safer than it currently is. Face-to-face training is considered an essential service in every state of Australia currently, however, to address any concerns students may have, we are able to offer the online and webinar sessions at this stage and complete the face-to-face components at a later stage if so requested. The signs are evident with yesterdays announcement that the company will be downsizing by approx. 800 technicians by the end of 2020. The good news: 1. Comtech Training can upskill NBN Fibre technicians into full Nationally Recognised Qualifications such as ICT31519 Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology and... ICT41219 Certificate IV in Telecommunications Engineering Technology. 2. With these qualifications, they can present to employers with fully rounded skills for all telecommunications installations on the customer side of the network. 3. NBN Technicians can utilise employment chances with the leverage of government funding and incentives to employ and upskill into full qualifications through a traineeship under the Australian Apprenticeship Program 4.
