14.01.2022 here we are showing you what can be done to make a great different to your front porch so it is much more appealing. As shown on the left, the porch is so small, confined and cramped, and it is a little bit out of proportion compared to the entire width of the house. The potential is to make it wider so it can also have a roof protecting the windows of the living room. It will also soften the plain and boring looking garage door. This may add value to your house! Add pot plan...ts, floor lights to fine tune it into the right atmosphere. If your house is a slab on ground, that means the porch is one step below the internal floor level, all you need is extend the front to right across. the new portion can be a small timber deck. Add additional columns so that it aligns with the front and 'emphasis' the entry point, let the structural engineer to decide. If you house has a raised level, why not relocate the steps or make it the way to suit your own preferences :) Ugly POSTS in the middle ? If you cannot avoid posts in front of the window, because of the span above is too long, try to see if these posts can be of a even number and be erected at equal distances. You may use smaller posts in between the big fat square columns. This is not a DIY and please note you may also require a planning permit. 04.01.2022 I came across a forum and one question was asked by a lady who rent and lived on the property, she said what is the best thing to do to a flooded cellar? I was trying to answer back some emergency tips she could take on as it was a Friday night when she posted, and apparently the real estate agents are off to their weekends, also and quite unfortunately the smell of those flooded water started to accumulate and I kindly suggested that she could have pour some bleach into the ...pond and see if it helps, but of course I also emphasized do not pour the whole bottle as it might cause very band soil contamination. Here is a video if you like to know what you can do as a matter or emergency. Get a water pump ready if you have a underground basement, semi basement or a cellar. You might be able to get some water out before the experts arrive. 04.01.2022 Like most of you i love cooking with kids, and i just got addited to having little helpers in every process because they are willing to try and they smile even it is a mess!
