25.01.2022 Up and over one of the steepest of the day - the tail-end of the July east coast low. Picture Rob Mercer

24.01.2022 Got back into Tuesday paddling after a few weeks off. Swell had been up to 10m a few days earlier. Seas gradually settled, and on this day it was down to around 3 to 4m. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. But things lately have taught me that I've got no idea what scary really is. Photos are by Rob Mercer. Check out other great pics and stories on his page, Rob Mercer Sea Kayaking.

20.01.2022 Big conditions north of Botany Bay last Tuesday. There was a close encounter with a whale but unfortunately, no clear photos were taken. Check out Mark Sundin's photos: https://www.facebook.com/mark.sund/posts/10158539181495477

17.01.2022 These east coast lows are producing some exciting paddling opportunities. Two weeks ago we experienced ocean-like conditions in Botany Bay. With winds behind us blowing over 70km/hr, it was quite a ride. Read about it in my post: https://www.cssphysio.com.au//botany-bay-with-winds-over-7 Two weeks later, and conditions are looking similar. Tomorrow's forecast of 25 knots and 3-5m swell should make for a lively afternoon. Stay tuned...

11.01.2022 Acute Low Back Pain - It won't last long. Evidence from a recent study. Read Paul's blog: https://www.cssphysio.com.au//acute-low-back-pain-it-won-t

07.01.2022 Matt Bezzina, a well known Sydney sea kayak instructor, posted a video of our recent paddle in a 25 knot southerly. The swell was 3 to 4 metres, but the video never quite does it justice: https://www.youtube.com/watch

03.01.2022 There's a NSW Gov survey about banning certain plastics. I thought it was worth taking the time to fill in: https://yoursay.dpie.nsw.gov.au/plastics-plan/short-survey
