25.01.2022 In addition to optometry, I have for many years (decades!) studied (& still studying!) nutrition, lifestyle & natural health to complement my holistic practice. For those interested in natural eye care - this is the free annual international natural vision summit starting in 2 days

Remember you can only go outside for medical care, essential shopping, exercise and work travel. Take care of yourselves and each other.

21.01.2022 Does your health fund rebate end in a week? Funds like AHM, Peoplecare and Defence Health reset on the 1st July. So use it or lose it - see us now for a spare pair of glasses or sunnies (full-cover range available) or a top-up of contact lenses

20.01.2022 Red light therapy is also being used for vision improvement, PM me if you'd like more information

20.01.2022 Saturday, time for some R&R?... You can justify it as youd be surprised that your lack of sleep may be causing you eye problems. So how does sleep benefit you...r eye health? As well as being a long period of time that your eyes don't need to focus, during sleep your body replenishes the supply of natural tears that keep them feeling hydrated. This means that you're more likely to avoid dry eyes during the day if you get 7+ hours a sleep per night. Sleep better and notice how well your eyesight will improve - if not head to your local independent Optometrist for a check-up. See more

18.01.2022 Have a great day!

15.01.2022 Optometry Australia urges parents to get their kids' eyes tested this January to ensure students don't have undiagnosed vision or eye health issues that could interfere with learning. Like regular checkups to the dentist and doctor's office, children need eye checks regularly throughout life. We recommend an eye exam for all children before they start school (around 4 years of age). Book online www.concordeycare.com.au or call us 87659600

15.01.2022 Regular exercise like walking, jogging & cycling reduces the risk for cataracts & other eye diseases

15.01.2022 Many of us are still working from home and you are probably not even aware that you have been staring at screens far longer than you should be. You may unknowin...gly be causing eye damage that in some cases may become permanent. Keep in mind digital screens emit a high-energy blue light which can negatively impact on long-term eye health. Easing eye strain and curbing the digital overuse (like checking your phone screen in the early morning hours) sounds harder than it is. And yet, our healthy eyesight is at stake if we dont take steps now to curtail vision damage.

08.01.2022 Today's guidelines for contact lens wearers and COVID-19

07.01.2022 We recommend an annual dilated retinal exam for diabetics - how long since you've had an eye test?

06.01.2022 As optometrists we are in close proximity with many patients every day -please be assured we're taking the necessary precautions throughout our practice to ensure you're not at risk when you visit. Let's all work at stopping the spread of the virus (check current guidelines below) - I appreciate the patient yesterday who postponed his appointment with me because he had a cold

05.01.2022 Today NSW Health has mandated that health workers in NSW must wear a surgical mask if they are within 1.5m of patients - this also applies to staff and patients where possible. We are taking many other precautions during your appointment with us - stay safe everyone

05.01.2022 The effects of lockdown on your eyes

04.01.2022 Wear your glasses for extra protection - to shield your eyes and reduce face-touching

04.01.2022 My advice on working from home: * Set your body clock with sunlight exposure through your eyes in morning * Set a routine with realistic work hours & take a lunch break! * Build a permanent & comfortable workstation with screens at arm's length... * Use the 20/20/20 rule - every 20 min look up 20 feet for 20 seconds - get up & move every 10-15min set an alarm * Use the right pair of glasses for the right task * Stay hydrated & try to blink regularly * Reduce your blue light exposure especially at night * Remember your eyes & visual system are connected to the rest of your body & are an extension of your brain - give yourself time to reduce stress, eat well, sleep early, exercise outdoors, listen to music and relax! 03.01.2022 Our new norm: hand sanitiser & masks for patients & staff; Masks, gloves, face shields & perspex barriers in testing rooms; 1 lonely socially-distanced chair & line in reception; Ultra-violet C lamps for room & frame disinfection; Anti-viral essential oils in air diffuser; Open doors for air flow & regular cleaning to help keep us all safe! Have I forgotten anything?! I'll need a holiday after this!! Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow!

03.01.2022 Wishing you a happy & healthy New Year, hoping for a better year for all of us For any urgent matters send a PM, we're reopening after a short break on the 11th Jan, see you then!

01.01.2022 Go for a brisk walk regularly for better eye health

01.01.2022 One in five Australian children has an undetected vision problem. We recommend all children have an annual Medicare bulk-billed examination of their eyesight & visual skills. Vision therapy & advice on visual habits, device use, work environment & outdoor play will help your child's educational, physical and social development.
