22.01.2022 Some of our Junior Primary students have recently been learning about the importance of visual arts in different cultures. They created a wonderful tree of hand prints and images to express what they feel is important to our school culture at Concordia our Christian faith, friends, a range of learning experiences, and nature play. So insightful, so valuable.
22.01.2022 It was a busy morning on campus! Our Year 1s were planting 'Easter gardens' to nurture as part of their Christian Studies unit. Meanwhile, our Year 7 and 11 students enjoyed various activities developing connections across year levels during their Peer Support session in the Quad. A wonderful way to start the day!

This coincides with National Science Weeks theme of Deep Blue: innovation for the future of our oceans. A wonderful opportunity to apply creative thinking and problem solving skills tackling the complexities of urban water supply!

19.01.2022 When we heard about students drilling holes in brains while working on their entries into the Oliphant Science Awards, we had to find out more. Year 8 students Issy and Eliza are fitting out artificial brains with LED lights as part of their investigation comparing brain activity when reading in neurotypical and dyslexic brains, while Angela is inquiring into the impact of temperature on the effectiveness of different types of sunscreen. We wish them all the best with their projects!

A special thank you to Kaurna Elder Mr Rodney O'Brien and Old Concordian Dr Roger Thomas (Commissioner for Aboriginal Engagement) for opening our St John's Campus Assembly with a Welcome to Country and speaking about the significance of NAIDOC. What an awesome experience for our students to learn firsthand how to ferment dough and cheese making. Sebastian is a true talent Engineer by day and a guru of hospitality by night. This is part of their Veta Morphus (Certificate III in Christian Ministry) studies. The younger students have loved having the Year 11s around... just look at their enjoyment!

16.01.2022 Our Year 3s cooked up a storm at the Concordia Campus yesterday, visiting Dr Rogers in the Nautilus Centre to create their own ice cream using dry ice and making delicious homemade pizza creations with Ms Rosie in Food Design. The visit was part of their Science unit, using scientific methods to explain how heat can move from one object to another and comparing results with their predictions. A tasty and wonderful learning opportunity!

15.01.2022 Concordia congratulates Old Concordian Angus McFeat (Class of 2019) whose Year 12 major artwork was chosen by Credit Union SA for display in their offices after appearing in the SACE Art Show. This striking piece will be on display in the Credit Union SA office space at 400 King William Street, Adelaide, until April 2021. Well done, Angus!
14.01.2022 It was wonderful to see 52 Year 11 students learning important skills for saving a life by attending Basic Emergency Life Support first aid training with St John Ambulance at the end of Term 2. We hope you never need to use these skills in a real-world scenario, but we are proud of you for getting equipped to help someone in need!

A group of Year 8s made Remembrance Day poppies with the Receptions, both campuses paused for a minute of silence, the Last Post was played live by two trumpeters, and our ELC students painted poppies. #RemembranceDay2020 #lestweforget

07.01.2022 What a busy week it has been in sport! | Well done to our Year 6/7 football, Year 7 soccer and Year 7 netball players. All four of our sports teams were undefeated in their respective round robins and have won through to the semifinal round of the statewide knockout competition. Go Concordia!
04.01.2022 What a massive year we have had! Thankfully, the road to the finish has been almost seamless. We enjoyed Middle School Activities Day and the Primary School Water Play Day. Last Wednesday, the 2020 Year 6 Student Leaders passed the baton to their successors at the St John's Campus Closing Service. A heart-warming end to the year's formalities!

President of the Association, Matt Bruening (2016) encouraged school leavers to get involved in the Old Concordians events, sports and reunions. A brilliant way to stay in touch and seek mentoring, advice or fun. We look forward to seeing the Class of 2020 at their first reunion in Feb 2021!

We were delighted to have approximately 20 students compete in a tournament throughout Term 2. Congratulations to Hana (Year 11) who finished as runner-up and Samuel (Year 10) who took out the win!

Bruce shared some important messages about working positively alongside others, understanding and accepting people for who they are, and the importance of good character. Meanwhile, Year 7s enjoyed Civics Week adventures to Adelaide Oval, the Adelaide Gaol, the Botanic Gardens, the Planetarium, the Mega Courts and more!
