25.01.2022 On the 11th June, the 2019/2020 Executive Committee held the final executive meeting of the year. During that meeting, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ann and Vivek to the committee. Ann and Vivek will be serving as our 2020/2021 Secretary and Sergeant at Arms, respectively. This is an exciting development, as Vivek and Ann have only been members of the club for a few months. Join us today and find out what exciting leadership opportunities are in store for you.
25.01.2022 Congratulations to four of our members - Peter Crosby, Kate Crosby, Philip Bendeich and Harini Sundaramurthy, who achieved Triple Crown Awards* for the Toastmasters Year 2019-2020! *Triple Crown Awards are earned by members who achieve three or more educational awards within a Toastmasters year. Each award a member receives counts for one point. A member is granted a Triple Crown Award upon achieving three points'... A Triple Crown Award can be earned by achieving a combination of any three of the following: - the completion of a Level in Pathways - the completion of the Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) in the Traditional Educational System - the completion of a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award in either, the Traditional or the Pathways Educational Systems.

23.01.2022 This evening, we held our final meeting of the Toastmasters year. We were joined by three visitors, one of whom is currently overseas. To celebrate our achievements over the past 12 months, we all decided to wear white t-shirts. Upon seeing Aileens white teddy bear, everyone quickly searched their homes to find another animal (stuffed or otherwise) with mixed success. The results of this mad dash are seen below. Our next meeting will be on the 7th July. As always, guests are most welcome.
23.01.2022 On Tues 29th September, we held a visual-themed meeting for the ‘World Heart Day’. World Heart Day informs people around the globe that Cardiovascular disease (CVD), including heart disease and stroke, is the world’s leading cause of death claiming 17.9 million lives each year, and highlights the actions that individuals can take to prevent and control CVD. In addition to the three fabulous prepared speeches, our members also shared what it meant for them to have a healthy heart life - to love, to smile, to walk, to drink (for some) and to fill our heart with joy. We then toasted to a healthy 'World Heart Day' as seen below. Here we come October! Our next meeting will be on Tues 6th October at 7pm. As always, guests are most welcome, please message us for a Zoom link.

20.01.2022 Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, Concord West Toastmasters has moved quite expeditiously to switch to an online meeting format. In order to iron out a number of bugs, so that our first full meeting on Tuesday 24th will go as smoothly as possible, the Club Executive met and ran a Mini Trial Meeting which went exceptionally well and we had a lot of fun. A very big thank you to the skill and enthusiasm of a great Team. We now have a YouTube clip for Members and even Visitors to preview in order to get an idea of how online meetings can work. 19.01.2022 At the Phillip Division Contest today Peter was able to arrange a photo with his old Phillip Division Team from 2015/16 when John was the Area 6 Governor (old speak). All of whom are still actively involved in one way or another at District 70 level let alone within their own Clubs. What a great team it was

09.01.2022 On Tuesday 30th June at 7pm, we will be having a party to celebrate the final meeting of the Toastmasters year. As we are currently meeting online, instead of sharing cakes and other sweets, we will be having a rare visual-themed meeting. Did you know: If you spin a colour wheel fast enough, all the colours blend into each other, creating an optical illusion of white light. In light of this interesting phenomenon, all attendees are asked to wear a white shirt/item of clothing. Guests are most welcome. Come join the party!

This year Lana takes on 2 conjunctive Social Media roles while Peter is involved in Strategic Planning decisions and John is involved with Public Relations and Training as District Staff Members.
02.01.2022 One of our longer serving Members John Hughson was invited back for a second year to be a co-host for the Rhodes Multicultural Associations Annual Rhodes Moon Festival 2020. This year with Covid19 restrictions it has been pre-recorded and went live on Sunday 27th September 2020. The hosts had less than 2 hours to record their parts and did so without any formal direction, but overall it came together okay. This community connection came about from a past Visitor to our Club some 2 years or more ago. Involvement in our Community has always been actively pursued by Concord West Toastmasters; https://www.facebook.com/RMCA2014AU/videos/358275865356397/
