23.01.2022 Condobolin Hospital loses Visiting Medical Officer(VMO) services. According to sources, inpatients will be cared for by a remotely staffed Virtual Rural Generalist Service, and ED by Vcare. What is happening to small rural communities? Are they considered not worthy of a hands on Dr service? What are the ramifications going to be? The pressure and stress being placed on nursing staff and paramedics will be extreme. Time to band together and make some noise. NSW Health and the NSW Government need to hear voices.

07.01.2022 WNSWLHD RESPONDS Rural and Remote Medical Services (RaRMS) announced its intention to withdraw from Condobolin on 28 February last week. This announcement led t...o a number of issues being raised in relation to VMO services, retaining doctors and the possible impact this decision may have on the local community. The Condobolin Argus contacted the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) for comment in relation to what the RaRMS decision might mean for the Condobolin Health Service, and the following was their response. WNSWLHD is in negotiations with Brenshaw Medical on the transition of VMO services, A WNSWLHD Spokesperson said. The hospital continues to operate as usual with continued Virtual Rural Generalist Service (videoconferencing), telehealth and Vcare services. WNSWLHD will also boost telehealth support for patients presenting to Condobolin Health Service. The 2019/20 budget for the Condobolin Health Service is more than $4 million. See more
