23.01.2022 Hello parents and carers! Our session will be on tomorrow. Our wonderful middle years teacher Anne will be taking the class with physio Clare- a dynamic duo if weve ever seen one! Nora will be away for a while- Ill fill you all in when I see you in the morning to introduce you to Anne.

23.01.2022 One of our wonderful speech language pathologists, Catriona is showing us how to use an aided langauge display (ALD) when playing with cars and trucks! Some of you will have this ALD from playgroup and many of you will receive one in your learning pack this week. It's always nice to get down on the floor to play with your child and have fun! Remember you only have point to one or two words as you talk (but you can always use more!)

21.01.2022 Hello ECDP families! An email will be sent soon about our first week of learning from home for ECDP. It is based on one of our favourite stories- Dont Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willem. Nora will be in touch this week to check how everything is going! Take care everyone!

21.01.2022 In 2019, Sophia graduated from our program. We had a little graduation ceremony complete with a beautiful montage of photos and videos showing the amazing progress she has made over the year! (Not a dry eye in the house!) Congratulations Sophia! We wish you all the best in the future!

19.01.2022 Merry Christmas and happy holidays from everyone at Xavier Conductive Education ECDP! We had a great Christmas break-up party with a vist from a somewhat junior Santa. Despite the looks on the children's faces, we've been assured they enjoyed receiving their gifts! Take care everyone and see you in 2020!

15.01.2022 Throughout each session, the students participate in fun, motivating play-based activities that help them experience sharing, taking turns, communicating with their friends and learning from each other. While each session is "hard work" with lots of challenges, our staff ensure that the students are having a great time in a playful, social learning environment.

15.01.2022 All of our students are developing their ability to take steps. Each are assisted or facilitated in different ways, with various amounts of support and types of equipment. The pride that we see in our students' little beaming faces is absolutely priceless when they practice taking steps.

14.01.2022 Dear parents and guardians Were getting ready for another year of amazing learning and achievement for our little stars! Our first session will begin on February 4th at 9am to 11:30. Please do your best to arrive as close to 9 as possible to maximise the time your child has to learn with our wonderful Teaching team... Nora (of course!) and Deb (teacher aide extraordinaire!). ... Last years student reports will be available at the first session next week. See you all then!

13.01.2022 Dear ECDP Parents and Families Just a reminder to keep your child home if they are feeling sick, especially with a fever, sore throat, runny nose or dry cough. We have a number of children, parents and grandparents who have compromised immune systems that may pick up viruses more easily or that may feel the effects of a virus more severely. This is our usual policy but its always good to have a reminder! Thanks for your attention and assistance.

11.01.2022 Hi ECDP families and friends! An email has been sent out today about our plans for ECDP next term. Please check and feel free to email Natalie if you have any concerns. Stay safe

10.01.2022 We embed various communication methods and strategies throughout each session. Many of our students do not use spoken language, so AUSLAN, PCS symbols, Aided Language Displays, and PODD books are used. Many of our students use more than one communication strategy, for example speech with signing. Whatever way they communicate, there are plenty of opportunities to share what they want to express with their friends, family and teachers.

07.01.2022 Dear parents and guardians- just a reminder of our end of year celebration of learning, Christmas Party, and graduation extravaganza!!! The celebration will occur on Monday the 10th starting at 9:00 in our classroom. Bumble Bee , Heidi , Mr Crocodile and Mrs. Wishy Washy are ready for all of our little all stars and Santa!!!!

06.01.2022 Are you making your bear mask this week as part of your learning from home? Are you doing other craft activities? Our wonderful speechie, Catriona is modelling how to use the cut and paste ALD when doing craft at home. You may already have this ALD at home. If you would like a copy, let Nora know and she will send one out in our next learning from home mail out. Have fun!

06.01.2022 This year, the students celebrated the upcoming School holidays by participating in fabulous activities to develop their communication, fine and gross motor skills, creativity and... cooking decorating competencies!!!

06.01.2022 Please have a look at these free parent workshops provided by the Community Resource Unit in partnership with the Department of Education. These workshops aim to assist parents to work with schools to ensure children have a successful transition to school.

05.01.2022 Xavier ECDP will be starting again this Wednesday at a new time- 9.30. Nora is so excited to see the children and families again!

02.01.2022 Reminder of our Transition to Prep Refresher being held this Thursday 6 August at 3.30. This is a repeat of the session we ran in Term 1 for those families who were unable to attend. Please RSVP asap to allow us to organise an appropriate space.
