21.01.2022 I watched this intro video to Ron's Masterclass. I am intrigued. People all over the internet are talking about 'tell the story', sell with your story, use your story to communicate a message / theme / movement. What do you want your be known for, how do you want to help people and use your story to connect with that audience. I think this Masterclass of watching Ron in action, collaborating with actors on a scene will show everyone the real skill in story telling. A great Christmas present to learn from a master of story telling in how to capture that amazing scene, moment and connection that will translate to all our small business communications.

Sooo he’d say ‘Length counts!’ In relation to different types of pages you would be safe with following guidelines: E-commerce product category pages - at least 300 words. Blog posts - 1000 words+ You have a higher chance of ranking in Google if you write long, high-quality blog posts, of 1000 words or more. Service pages - 1000 words + Declan would also say, page structure is vital and I will say design of the page and how you display the content counts too. It’s simply not enough to write 5 paragraphs and be done with it. Good luck! And if you really want your pages to rank you would go to the source and get @iformat_digital to write them!

20.01.2022 I go to thinking about the amount of times I see people on social media say hustle. It is such an unappealing word to me. I feel exhausted when I see it or think about it. And have not applied this approach to being in business. But it inspire me to explore the topic.I found that Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi wrote a book on it. Called, you guessed it FLOW He appears to be one of the pioneers on the research of flow. In his book he describes flow as being consciously in inn...er harmony with whatever you’re doing which make sense. When you are in the flow things feel effortless. Life seems smooth sailing and there is a sense of ease and grace. That has to be how I wish my business to feel, run and be experienced. After doing more reading here is a list of ideas to help keep you in the flow. Some ways to get into the flow with your business: 1. Take a break from technology, such as your phone or computer every 40 minutes. Go for a walk for 5 minute walk to simply breath and look around you. Particularly before you start a new task. 2. Enjoy the journey of a project, email, or conversation, rather than thinking about the destination or final product or the next task. 3. Stay in a situation or with a project until you feel in your heart that it’s finished. I did number #1 last week, where I lay out in the sun for 20 mintues in between projects and got this great inspiration for a website and it seemed to just flow out of me. It was effortless and envigorating. So I say it again more flow less hustle

Its true, especially for small businesses, coaches, health and wellness industries.... While many sites contact us page is an after-thought, it actually warrants just as much thought as the About Page. Its the beginning of your relationship with potential customers.

Despite our big smiles we were quite impacted by seeing the contrast from what used to be bustling and vibrant cafe and they must be barely surviving on takeaway coffee & snacks. And still we were met with warm cheery service.

18.01.2022 Coach Central founded by Cindy Turner. We launched this in October last year and Cindy is now about to start marketing it and her trade marked POWER CIRCLES. Power CirclesTM are high-performance Coach mastermind groups designed to empower and enable game-changer coaches to have greater impact and business success. If you are a Life Coach, Business Coach, Executive Coach and not happy with your client acquisition then Cindy is your gal. ... Cindy had a 'feeling' of what she wanted but needed us to translate that into a design. We loved working with her as it was a really collaborative project. This project also is a perfect example of how we can work remotely, Cindy and I have still not met in person even though we would have had a dozen phone calls and countless emails. We also did some fancy coding for this site on the Power Circles page which we are doing regularly for people now.

18.01.2022 2019 is off with a roaring start and we are back on board with a new post featuring insights just for E-Commerce site owners or if you are thinking of launching an online store this year. Business news sites are saying that online is going to grow at an even quicker rate than previous years so we hope this is helpful. Our e-commerce clients have tripled in the past year on either Wordpress or Shopify and glad to be able to pass on their learnings to those venturing online.

15.01.2022 Do you have Facebook Ads frustration? I have run these twice in my business life and its been an absolute nightmare. I can do lots of things but this has always been beyond me. Last night at a great Business In Heels Bayside I heard Jasmine Batra Jasmine Batra from Arrow Internet Marketing talk about how her company does it and I was super impressed. If you have put off doing this for a while, reach out to them, it isnt as expensive as you might think. Ive been off Facebook and on Instagram for most of last and this year due to the lack of reach and frustration but with an expert in my corner this is a new business growth strategy we will be exploring.

14.01.2022 Wisdom from Seth Godin. I love this man's perceptions. Gorilla marketing - Seth Godin The late Jay Levinson created the Guerrilla Marketing series. I was lucky enough to work with him early in the arc, producing four of them.... One of the core tenets of the books was that marketing was no longer merely the work of giant organizations with giant budgets. That in fact, it was possible to spread an idea with care, guts and effort, not just with money. We wanted people, particularly small businesses, to see that they could be marketers too. Well, that's no longer a problem. In fact, it's swung so far the other way that we have a new problem. When marketing was expensive, it was done with care. Not only by committees that worked hard to keep things consistent, but by creators who thought deeply about their long-term reputation. Today, because noise is everywhere, we're all surrounded by a screaming horde, an open-outcry marketplace of ideas where the race to be heard appears to be the only race that matters. And so subtlety flies out the window, along with a desire to engage for the long haul. Just a troop of gorillas, all arguing over the last remaining banana. It turns out that there's a useful response... to ignore them. To stick to the work, to the smallest possible audience, to building something worth talking about. What actually works in a noisy environment isn't more noiseit's the challenging work of earning the benefit of people telling people. We don't need more hustle. We need more care and generosity.

We knew all about Dusk's talent, building care and quality while writing copy for the site and reading testimonials but to watch the boys in action was a real treat and testament to the care John takes with each build. Dusk Homebuilders are a family run business owned by John Tregaskis and build beautiful houses in Bayside and surrounding suburbs. His work is stunning and he has to get the award for the tradies that leave the tidiest worksites! ... You might see him most mornings out in the bay swimming with his trusty dog! We are about to load a new house he's finished just before Christmas. Love this industry, as a child I wanted to be an Architect, and when I did the Diploma in Interior Design at RMIT we got to on site and document a build prior to lock up stage. A real treat that we have done 2 building industry related sites and about to start another.

Batten Sacks based in South Melbourne. There are really strong in the Commercial & Property area but with 4 partners they are also offer Wills and Family Law. Their site hadnt been updated for quite a few years and we worked closely with @fimimsphotography for lifestyle images and portrait shots and @iformat_digital to create the SEO strategy and optimisation of the site. People ask how do you make a law firm stand out from other law firms? OR Johannah how can you design for more than one business in an industry? The answer is simple. Every business is unique due to the people that make up that business. Their expertise, passion, niche focus of services or industry it all adds up to them; and we communicate it via the tone, copy and images I have the same message for every business owner no matter if you are an online business, financial services, corporate or trade or consultant, people want to SEE you. They help local families purchase their first home or investment properties. Adam uses his years of working as business analyst in banking and finance as well as his MBA to go to any lengths to get the right deal for their clients.... We designed and built the new site and will launch a second site for the commercial arm later this year. Using Fi Mims to capture the magic of the office interiors and create an image narrative instead of simply using branding images we achieved a warm and boutique feel.

07.01.2022 #covidworklife This felt as odd to take as it looks! I have mostly worked from home in the 6 years weve been in business. So Covid didnt really change much for us except I couldnt go out and meet people.... One of my fave parts of our business is meeting new people, it satisfies my curiosity. With covid I moved onto Zoom immediately. I invested in a light and changed my office layout. I also changed my clothing a bit. Less dressy than I used to be but certainly still do my hair and make up each day. Ive noticed some people have embraced the home casual life more. Curious to know whats changed with how you work now.

06.01.2022 Article out today on Search Engine Land. Google has announced it’s latest algorithm. Starting in July 2018, Google will finally use mobile page speed as a ranking in their mobile search results. They have been doing this on desktop but now for mobiles your sites must load fast or your ranking will drop.... It’s called Speed Update. So you won’t instantly drop off as Speed is just one of many signals that are used to rank pages. Keep in mind that intent of the search query is still a very strong signal, so a slow page may still rank highly if it has great, relevant content. Our one page starter site is a great way to get a fabulous on-brand web presence. You do need more than one page for great ranking but you can add on a blog and write regular SEO rich keyword content to help rank in Google.... Many businesses cut corners by using a free web builder but it looks unprofessional and certainly doesn't stand out. These web builders also have shocking SEO so you are not doing yourself any favours. We designed and built this website from in 2 weeks and that included some branding photography and a copywriter weaving her magic into the site. Id say that is a pretty responsive service! As always we draw on regular collaborators to help produce a unique result. 03.01.2022 Do you have Facebook Ads frustration? I have run these twice in my business life and it's been an absolute nightmare. I can do lots of things but this has always been beyond me. Last night at a great Business In Heels Bayside I heard Jasmine Batra Jasmine Batra from Arrow Internet Marketing talk about how her company does it and I was super impressed. If you have put off doing this for a while, reach out to them, it isn't as expensive as you might think. I've been off Facebook and on Instagram for most of last and this year due to the lack of reach and frustration but with an expert in my corner this is a new business growth strategy we will be exploring.

His clarity process revealed desired business values ands principles of determination, encouragement to achieve success for clients, vitality, enthusiasm. The colour orange is associated with most of these so one of our concepts we present later this week will include an orange in it. This morning’s first task is to create a colour palate so here are some of the gorgeous shades I found on my Pinter...est Orange / Red board. I go on Pinterest a couple of times a week and add to my existing board themes, I find it easier to go looking for particular things depending on what mood I am in.
