20.01.2022 As a Reggio-Emilia inspired service, we decided to brush up on our skills with the assistance of Lady Gowrie SA through a professional 'Reggio-Emilia' workshop. When our Educators improve their skills and practice, they enhance the positive development of the children in their care. We gained lots of knowledge and inspiration from Reggio-Emilia centre's across the world, as well as reflected on a poem by Reggio-Emilia Founder, Loris Malaguzzi, called "The Hundred Languages". #professionaldevelopment #reggioemilia #playbasedlearning

20.01.2022 Get down low, and GO, GO, GO! Today we had a visit from some fire fighters to discuss fire safety with our children. Engagement with our community helpers is important for expanding our children's awareness of the world around them and learning what to do in emergency situations. We enjoyed learning what to do in case of an emergency, seeing inside a fire truck and watching the power of a fire hose spray water across the car park!

Our aim is to incorporate experiences which engage children and make them active-participants. Kindy have been engaged in ongoing learning through minimising food waste with their worm farm, Pre-Kindy have been learning about the different types of waste & recycling, Toddlers have been planting their own seeds and learning about plant life cycles, and Nursery have been exploring messy play using recycled materials. 08.01.2022 Happy Moon Lantern Festival to our Chinese and Vietnamese families! The Moon Lantern Festival celebrates the gathering of friends and family after the crops are harvested. Today, Confident Kids celebrated by sharing mooncakes, making our own lanterns and wearing traditional dress. We would like to thank the Vietnamese Community in Australia - SA Chapter Inc. for providing beautiful lanterns to decorate our centre and some Vietnamese storybooks for our children and families to enjoy.

04.01.2022 Thank you to Nick, one of our dads, who made a special visit today to tell our children about his role in our community as an Army Officer. This hands-on experience gave our children the chance to try on helmets, earmuffs, special goggles and even wear their own war paint, while learning about what special role these officers have in keeping our community safe!
