It also just highlights that with time and practice, children's emotional tolerance and self-control develops. Practice everyday with your child naming their emotions and showing empathy when they feel overwhelmed. Grab some sticks (Kmart sell these cheap , felt pens and stickers and brainstorm with your child some positive affirmations that will motivate them to keep trying and recognise their strengths! Put the stick in a jar where everyone can grab one throughout the day or make it part of your morning routine at breakfast! ... Reflect with your child at dinner time, and talk about how they were brave and confident through the day!
