24.01.2022 Another course for Mental Health First Aid for the Older Person (those who support or work with people aged 65+). This is a very important course as it enables people to look at helping those who may be experiencing a range of mental health issues such as; depression, anxiety, dementia, delirium and a range of other issues such as confusion etc. The course is written in layman's terms and is open to the public (our next course is in July). Not a big group this time but a very enthusiastic group.

01.01.2022 A recent Youth Mental Health First Aid Course saw the participation of a youth co-ordinator (Helio Xavier) from the Marie-Stopes Timor-Leste service. This was Helio's first trip outside of Timor and he took the opportunity to learn first hand about working with young people around mental health issues. This important service in Timor assists young people around issues of reproductive health education and runs a national hotline to provide young people with comprehensive sexua...l and reproductive health education. Young people can call the helpline and talk about healthy relationships, puberty and menstruation, reproductive health and family planning, pregnancy and infertility and sexually transmitted infections. Felio enjoyed his training with one of our long time trainers Fred Stern. Helio returns home not only with new information and resources but also with ALGEE the koala bear to remind him of his Australian adventure.
