23.01.2022 Hey guys a quick post to let you all know we are still open seeing patients, the closures of some businesses does not effect us!

23.01.2022 We are looking for a full time Physiotherapist with musculoskeletal/private practice experience to join our young, vibrant team for an immediate start. We have 3 other Physiotherapists, an Exercise Physiologist, Massage Therapist and a musculoskeletal doctor of all whom are part of the team. Our case load includes a mix of private patients with sporting injuries/post surgical rehab, workers compensation, medicare referrals, NDIS & CTP patients. We have an onsite gym and pri...vate treatment rooms, with sessions being one on one with each patient. We also run exercises classes so there is opportunity to become involved in this. There is full administration and financial support for professional development. There is also the opportunity to have one on one weekly training with the principal physiotherapist. We are supported with referrals by a number of GP's, sport physicians and surgeons to give a great mixture of patients. This position would ideally suit someone with at least 2 years of private practice experience, however all applications will be considered. Remuneration is dependent on experience. See more

19.01.2022 Please everyone remember to support your local businesses in this difficult time They do it much harder than most people realise, often living week to week with cash flow struggles just like many people in society. They pay their staff wages and expenses before seeing an income for themselves. By supporting your local small businesses, you are helping to keep the average Australian employed. So keep buying your coffee from your local cafe, order dinner from a local restauran...t. Maybe order take away if you feel this is best, but dont forget about these people doing it tough. If airlines and other big businesses can go broke within the next 6 weeks, you can imagine that small businesses are in the same, if not worse situation. No one is immune to the health or economic impact of these crazy times. Attend your local dentist if needed, attend the restaurant with your partner or small family. If youre concerned, discuss it with them first. Apply excellent hygiene practices always. Maybe sit at a table away from others at a restaurant to ensure safe distances, Im sure this will be accommodated already. Be sensible about what you do and stay safe. #keepgettingyourcoffee Connect Physiotherapy

16.01.2022 Great post by @rehabscience: ---------- "A great illustration from @honest_physio that helps address a very common clinical misconception about... the relationship between knee joint noise (crepitus) and the development of pathology. - Almost every day in the clinic, I meet someone who is concerned about a noise that their body is making. The knee is one of the most common areas of concern as the joint behind our kneecap (patellofemoral joint) commonly makes popping and clicking noises. - It is extremely important that people understand that noises from the knee are usually not associated with pathology and may actually be a sign of a healthy, well-lubricated joint. lets be careful not to make people feel bad about their knee noise as it can negatively influence how they view their body! - So, if your knees are noisy and you dont have pain, dont worry about them. The noise is most likely due to the movement of fluid behind the kneecap and is not an indicator of a developing joint problem. Reference: Robertson CJ, et al. Peoples beliefs about the meaning of crepitus in patellofemoral pain and the impact of these beliefs on their behaviour: A qualitative study. Musculoskelet Sci Pract. 2017. . #RehabScience" . 13.01.2022 After your morning run/walk, try the humble burpee! What is a burpee? Its well known for being the most gruelling exercise created. BUT it reaps so many benefi...ts: Uses nearly all the muscles in the body Builds power Cardiovascular endurance 4 steps to the perfect burpee: Go to a squat position with hands on the ground Kick your feet back into a plank position and drop your chest down Jump the feet back to the starting squat Stand straight up or jump high, and give yourself a clap! Our staff and patients are taking every necessary precaution to ensure we reduce the likelihood of COVID-19 transmission.... We are also in the process of creating alternative options to clinic based visits, such as Telehealth consultations. This reduces the risk of transmission , particularly in those most vulnerable. Please keep an eye on this page for more information about all of this moving forward. We will also be sending out emails with further information soon, as well as updates on our website. 05.01.2022 Ready to get back to the gym post-iso? Be sure to follow these tips from physios around Australia to make your return without injury as smooth as possible. Wa...rm-up and cool-down properly using stretching, foam-rolling and icing techniques to aid in your recovery. Drop your pre-iso weight by 20-30% and gradually increase the weight over four-eight weeks depending on your age and fitness level. Get your form checked by a professional and ensure you are controlled and slow in your repetitions. Dont go too hard, too early! Build up to your pre-iso levels as your muscles and tendons will have likely shrunk, making you more susceptible to injury. Check in with your local physio to avoid injury and manage your return to full capacity. For more recommendations from APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist Julie Campbell, MACP, and Brooke Patterson, APAM, on returning to the gym, head to https://ab.co/2XPA3Z6 #StayFitSaturday #gym #choosephysio #weekendworkout
