25.01.2022 Update on Lulu the Gorgeous's 'Success Markers': Today's session was again on lead (because we were in public). The goal was that Lulu would stay within the lead distance, with distractions around, to then reinforce the connection and communication. Lulu heard her Success Marker word "Good" and responded. Well done Lulu.

21.01.2022 Boweezil got to meet Zeus. We worked on Zeus's impulse control - he wanted to pull on his lead to get to Boweezil. Boweezil was in a 'drop' and did not take any notice of him whilst Zeus remained connected with his owners and stayed seated. Zeus's owners have come a long way and it's been great to see their connection develop. We believe at Connect2Canines that if we change the context for our puppies or dog it can keep them guessing - life can be a game! If we stay calm and simply play along, our bond with our canine companions will flourish.

21.01.2022 Meet Lottie, the 7 week old maltese puppy, and Bella, the 5yr old Dalmation. Tonights first In Home Consult for all the family was jam packed with humour. Bella learnt how to succeed with her owners installing her Markers. This helps Bella build up self confidence which she is lacking at the moment. The other part of our lesson was focused on puppy socialization for Lottie and the importance of it. It was great working with all the family.

17.01.2022 Meet Lulu the Gorgeous. Today for her Walk & Train session we implemented her Success Markers. These will help to reinforce good behaviours. Lulu was very engaged during our session, we will keep you up to date with her progress.

17.01.2022 Boweezil and I 'proofing' the recall. Boweezil has improved with this behaviour and I am very proud of how much he enjoys coming back.

17.01.2022 Puppy Socialization story. This is Coby she is a 7 wk old Irish Wolfhound. Coby stayed at our Connect2Canines family for a few days. She was introduced to our dogs and children. Each day Coby experienced many car rides, other dogs, many different people, Bunnings, night time training, busy roads and lots more environmental stimulation. Coby was a little sponge and took it all on with super curiosity. Hope you enjoyed Coby's puppy story so far.

13.01.2022 Meet Tank the Mastiff x Great Dane. Tanks first In Home Consult was a huge success. We worked on intalling Markers to communicate when he is doing something good. He started to understand lead pressure and the importance to move with us when we are walking. Lastly, impulse control was a big step for Tank so we practiced this with being on his bed and calming down whilst his owners could mark and reward his effort. Big thanks Tanks owners - they put in great effort.

13.01.2022 This is Margo, she has a gentle character. However she was being reactive on her walks and lunging at other dogs, which isn't ok. Margo is also afraid of storms. So her owner learnt how to install a working Marker and a Release Marker for Margo. Margo experienced this exercise in the home and then outside. Markers are a very effective way to communicate to our canine companions. With Margo's storm phobia we have begun a desensitization program. Margo has a very sweet nature and both her and her owner have a great connection.

11.01.2022 This is a long video so if you have the time please check the awesome connection that Sharon and Pacho the German Shepherd have achieved. Pacho has been trained and placed by Jason and Mary from Stapell Working Dog & Cane. Connect 2 Canines has been privileged to have the opportunity to work with both Jason and Mary and we look forward to the future. Great work Sharon and Pacho and a huge round applause for Stapell Working Dog & Cane.

10.01.2022 Warning loud whistle mind your ears . Boweezil and I chaining some behaviours together at night off lead. Began with a Recall into a Heel and added a Drop then Released back into the environment with Free which is a reinforcement. During this exercise I used the YES marker word to communicate I like what your doing lets continue to work together. Lighting isn't that great but this was a real life situation and everything isn't always perfect hence the reason for the post. Thanks for watching and hope you got some good pointers.

10.01.2022 Today at the end of Cassidy's Walk and Train session she enjoyed a relaxing rub down under the little sun we had. We believe at Connect2Canines that affection is an important part of connection and is part of our reward/reinforcements communication technique.

08.01.2022 Brownie the 6 month old Labradoodle experienced an adventure day with us at Connect2Canines. Brownie got experience with car rides, going to a local creek, different terrain and hanging out with Boweezil (following him around). During Brownies day we worked on his Impulse control to help him understand to stay in position until released. Boweezil helped with this exercise. We also worked on Brownies recall which we believe at Connect2Canines is the most important behaviour we ask from our dogs.

08.01.2022 Meet Rigby. Rigbys owners have only had him for 8 weeks are doing great. This fella came ready to work! With great engagement we just needed to work on his impulse control. Markers are the key to achieve a desired behaviour. Rigby is a smart guy and showed a lot of behaviours he had previously learnt from his farm life as a herding dog.

07.01.2022 Got to love puppies playing. Send a like if you enjoyed.

06.01.2022 Playing fun toy games is a positive way to connect with our canine companions. Just to demonstrate, Cassidy and I have built a trust over recent months with our game play using the 'predatory cycle technique'. I hope you enjoy.

04.01.2022 This is Bella who is a very sweet little beauty. This was Bella's second Walk and Train with Connect2Canines. We like to give freedom during our sessions for the dogs. This was a great opportunity for a Recall to reinforce her effort. Bella's owners have been practicing the same technique which enables Bella to want to come back everytime.

03.01.2022 Meet Billy. He is a 7 week old Maremma who has a great working spirit. For the beginning of Billy's puppy socialization his owner's have responsibly taken him to Bunnings, Pet Stock, produce store and many car drives. Billy has achieved crate training, simple grooming techniques for future with his long coat and integration with the many different animals on his property were he will be doing what Maremma's do best - livestock guardian.

03.01.2022 This video shows Brownie (16 week old Labradoodle) playing with the mini spring pole. Brownie love's playing and at Connect2Canines we provide ideas on how to indirectly train your puppy/dog. In this video Brownie is working on self play, his control on holding and letting go and the want too continue but also stop.

01.01.2022 Today's session with Bryn was more confidence building. He is reactive to many things in his home and elsewhere. We worked on installing his markers and implemented crate training. Dogs love to have a safe place to relax and unwind. Bryn has many places in the house where he lays, but he doesn't always relax - being constantly reactive isn't healthy. His crate is a quiet, safe place where he can learn to fully relax.

01.01.2022 It was great meeting Marli the Border Collie and Alice the Sharpei Mastiff cross on the weekend. They both decided in between our training they would play a very gentle game of stick sharing. Their owner's learnt all installing Markers to begin on Marli and Alice's learning journey. Both Marli and Alice are bright girls it was a great session with them and their dedicated owners.

01.01.2022 Lotus the white Border Collie is connect2canines other family dog. Boweezil had a day off and Lotus got to enjoy a day out at Bribie Island. Lotus got to meet Rocco the Rottweiler who is now 14 weeks old. Lotus helped Rocco with his dog socialization during our lesson. Rocco was very interested in meeting Lotus. Our walk was filled with obstacles that Lotus took on and Rocco followed which was great for Rocco's self confidence. Rocco and his devoted owner have developed a great companionship which is always great to see.
