25.01.2022 We all grow and learn. So just keep swimming.
25.01.2022 An awesome reminder
23.01.2022 What this some of this week has looked like? - met with a beautiful family to discuss supporting a child with school refusal, and we came up with a plan for home and to support the school. - I planned and supported a younger child with some play exposure to support sensory avoidance, and we chatted and built some strategies for when he feels worried. - I problem solved with a family around a lot of challenging and complex behaviours, and together we came up with some strategi...es (practical and supportive) that are appropriate to the families respectful parenting. - A family experiencing tricky responses to food and eating came to me, and we made a start on meeting the child where they are at, and forming a plan around priorities. This child is waiting to see a specialist for support however it is quite a long wait. An amazing week offering families a chance to talk through things that are weighing heavily on them, and come up with plans that out the little person front and centre! I am very very lucky to do what I do. See more

14.01.2022 Do your children participate in a sports team or other community access programs? Would love to hear about well supported inclusive programs available for children locally.
13.01.2022 What have you done lately for your mental health? As parents of children with complex challenges and strengths you often carry a heavier load, with less opportunity for self care. Squeezing in small amounts of care is a way to help.
12.01.2022 Absolutely! Seen and invisible disability needs support and inclusion.
12.01.2022 Hi I am Bec - a Family and Child practitioner, Developmental educator and the owner of *Connect - Responsive behaviour support* I offer support to the families of behaviourally challenging children. My strategies aim to help parents to understand, be compassionate and build stronger relationships with the children they are raising. I support collaborative, non-punitive, non-adversarial strategies, that are practical. I am also a Mum to 4 children with neuro-diversity so I ‘...get it’! My services are claimable under NDIS for plan and self-managed participants. If you aren’t currently funded I can support you with a 30 minute free consult to see if I can be useful to your family. ‘Kids do well if they can’ - Dr Ross Greene
11.01.2022 Hopefully when we start to work together, you will feel a little lighter and more joyful about the future for your family. Because together we can find simple and practical strategies to help.
11.01.2022 This is such an accessible explanation of why children with ADHD/ASD/Executive functioning issues have trouble consistently with ‘simple’ tasks, like showering, or getting ready for school.
09.01.2022 Let's chat and see if I can help your family to smile more, and build stronger more connected and positive relationships. I am offering free (no commitment) 20 minute phone chats to see if I can help your family, and your little person. (**Being an educator, and social work qualified, and a parent raising my own four children with neuro-diversity/divergency I bring a unique understanding of the challenges your family, and your little person are facing. I really understand the 'load' of what is going on from multiple perspectives, and the science and research that sit behind the strategies I utilise.**)
