25.01.2022 Generous supporters and partners have enabled ConnectEd Cambodia to make significant contributions to education programs here in Cambodia. Providing education to vulnerable and exploited children often involves working with families and communities that experience complex challenges. As ConnectEd Cambodia, we listen carefully to the needs of our partner organisations and try to link resources with actual needs on the ground. Consequently we have been able to donate a motorcycle, and quality computers for social workers to continue their vital work with the families and broader communities of the education projects we partner with. Thanks everyone for your support. Let us know if you would like to be part of what ConnectEd Cambodia is doing.

22.01.2022 Here's a great option as we head towards Christmas. Thanks to our great friends at AusCam Freedom Project, there's an opportunity to give a very practical gift to support the education of girls in Cambodia.
19.01.2022 Did you know Cambodian women are one the most vulnerable to foreign bride trafficking to China? The UN has identified women in poorer Southeast Asian countri...es, such as Cambodia and Myanmar, who are targeted to be sold as brides. They are usually approached by brokers in rural areas with promises of a job in the city, or they come to the city themselves, from where they are trafficked. Marriage is still an attractive option for many poor Southeast Asian women, who lack education and job opportunities at home. But a ban on marriage broker services in countries such as Cambodia and China is pushing the industry underground and leaving these women at higher risk. The gender imbalance in Chinese society will remain for decades to come and with it the demand for brides from elsewhere. To truly stop this trade of bride trafficking, prevention needs to be the priority. Education and job opportunities is the only way to stop the sale of girls and women. . . . #itsnotok #notforsale #stoptrafficking #educatinggirls #genderinequality #empoweringwomen #morejobs #morehumanity See more

12.01.2022 Thanks to all our supporters over 2018, we were able to connect more than $20 000 worth of education resources to contribute to vital education projects in Cambodia, who are working with poor and disadvantaged children. This quick video-edit filmed in Cambodia this year, reminds us who these resources benefit, and how education can provide hope and opportunity to the poorest of Cambodian children. Looking forward to next year when we have a whole lot more planned, thanks again for your support, Happy New Year.
11.01.2022 Our movie fundraiser for AusCam Freedom Project is on next Wednesday night at the Capri. Grab some friends and book tickets online ASAP! www.connected.eventbrite.com.au
11.01.2022 "PIO is committed to providing quality education to children in need. Children attending PIO are:from families living in poverty, living in homes where they are at risk of harm or are of school age but who are not at school. The school is for children who are unlikely to complete their education unless they are helped and encouraged in their study" It is a privilege for ConnectEd to partner with PIO by contributing some computer hardware for their IT course which is providing real educational outcomes for their students. John Thompson and his team have customized an app based IT program, which is proving to be engaging and effective for the students. The students were busting for us to finish our catch up so they could get in the lab and work on their programming and educational apps.

07.01.2022 Check out the water filter on the right in these pictures! That's how much dirt has been removed from the water at Cambodia Care Centre in the last month. We were able to fund these filters to provide clean drinking water to the staff and children of CCC thanks to some generous donations from friends back home. Yesterday we visited with Chengly to see them in action. The kids who attend this school come from one of the poorest and most disadvantaged areas of Phnom Penh, and CCC helps keep them in school by also providing food, medical care and business opportunities for the local community.

03.01.2022 We love this! One of our partner schools in Phnom Penh have used the technology that we have been able to deliver to create an engaging and creative learning environment for their students. Our aim is to help PIO expand this program to other schools in the near future.
02.01.2022 Here’s a throwback to the last time I (Mark) visited PIO with my son Lochie. It was January this year and the school was buzzing with activity. Since that time, they have faced some significant challenges, as have all of our partner organisations in Cambodia. I recently got the following update: The economic impact of Covid-19 to Cambodia has been severe with the loss of tourism and an impact on factories as demand drops. I expect that many of our families will now be under ...greater economic stress and facing difficulties that they thought they had left behind. Unfortunately lack of tourists means a lack of visitors to PIO and a loss of potential donors. While we are unable to get over there for the foreseeable future, we want to keep you updated with what’s happening. As we continue to deal with our own uncertainty in 2020, let’s continue to be mindful of the exaggerated effect on poor communities in Cambodia and around the world. See more
02.01.2022 Thanks to the help of our fantastic supporters, including Datacom and Dewings, today we were able to hand over 8 laptops and some other IT gear to some of our friends from People for Care and Learning, who were down from Siem Reap. Some of these computers will be used to support the work of PCL staff, while the rest will go into a computer lab to to provide much needed vocational IT training to locals in Siem Reap.
01.01.2022 Here's an update from one of our partners. This is a project that we've played a small part in helping to fund, thanks to the generosity of our supporters. You can get get involved directly too. Check the bottom of the post for instructions on how to make a tax deductible donation.
