24.01.2022 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. R U OK? Day is a good reminder to check in on the mental health and wellbeing of your colleagues, friends and family. When and how to ask R U OK? When to ask? Changes to notice in your colleagues in the virtual workplace:... - Keeping different hours: perhaps not logging in for meetings during the day, taking much longer to respond to emails or sending emails very late at night. - Camera off: someone who usually has there camera on in Teams or Zoom meetings now has their camera off. - Appearance: if you notice a change in a colleague’s appearance on video meetings. For example, if they usually dress in work attire and are now often in a tracksuit or PJs. How to ask? - Choose your timing - ensure you have privacy and enough time to properly listen. - Remember the most important thing you can do is listen - you do not need to have all the answers. - Offer support and encourage them to seek support from a family member or friend, or see a healthcare professional. - Remember to check back in with the person in a few days time.

19.01.2022 Together let’s create the much needed public outcry about these truly awful suicide rates for 2019. As a society we need to prioritise mental health and change the narrative around mental ill health and suicide. https://www.abc.net.au//victorian-coroner-concer/12324404

15.01.2022 The government has announced they will provide an additional 10 Medicare rebated sessions with a psychologist per calendar year to Victorians due to the second wave of Covid-19. Victorian’s will now have access to up to 20 subsidised sessions per year, which will hopefully provide people with some much needed mental health support during this second round of restrictions.
