17.01.2022 A beautiful message from Aunty Lorraine Peeters, Wailwan/Gamilaroi Elder and Stolen Generations survivor who generously shared her story as a part of the Archie Roach Stolen Generations Education Resources. "For Aboriginal children out there that are still struggling. I want you to be proud and never forget who you are, where you come from and stay strong in spirit. This is also your story, but don't carry our pain, but keep our stories alive, don't let them forget. Find your purpose and follow that like Archie and I have done. And that is helping others and making them happy." Stay deadly you mob!!

07.01.2022 For all you mob choosing to attend this Saturday's Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance - WAR Stop Black Deaths in Custody peaceful protest, have a read below ...on what the organisers are advising to do keep yourselves safe. #BLM The team at VACCHO are taking a harm minisation approach and emphasis the organisers approach. If you can’t attend that’s ok, you will have the ability to show solidarity and support via livestream. WAR will live-stream the event via their Facebook. This is a peaceful protest with strength and purpose. Remember: - Please stay home if you are unwell. If you have any cold or flu like symptoms. - While the police are acknowledging the pain and suffering our Community is facing. And respecting our Communities right to peacefully protest, this must be done safely and in trying to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. - Remember to keep a safe distance of 1.5 meters apart at all times. - More frequent transport will be operating. But consider staggering entry and departure times, public transport etc. - Be sensible. Peacefully protest but do this lawfully. - Hygiene and personal equipment are critical to reduce the risk and stop the spread of COVID- wear face masks, bring sanitisers, and wash your hands. Stay deadly. Stay safe.

04.01.2022 Hey you mob! As the number of COVID-19 conformed cases rise in Victoria, there are 2 important things we can all do to help flatten the curve and feel safer. ... 1. Even if you have the mildest symptoms of coughing, fever, loss of smell, headaches GET TESTED STRAIGHT AWAY. Don't put it off by going to the shops or out for exercise, because you might be spreading the virus and not even know it. 2. Once you've been tested you need to isolate at home until your results come back (usually a couple of days). This means you protect your community until you know for sure you don't have coronavirus. If you TEST POSITIVE to COVID-19 and need to take time off work to isolate there is a one-off $1,500 worker support payment available to support Victorian workers who have to self-isolate. People should call 1800 675 398 (option 8) to register for support. There is also a $300 payment for any worker tested for coronavirus who needs to take time off work while awaiting results. Register at https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/covid-19-worker-support-payment To find out where you can get tested: call your local Aboriginal Health Service call the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 675 398 go to http://www.vaccho.org.au/admin/pages/edit/show/1061 Remember to look after yourself so you can look after others.
