24.01.2022 What better way to recognise Shark Awareness Day than with Shark Pose Here’s why Shark Pose is good for little bodies; assists in keeping the abdominal and back muscles healthy and strong... improves digestion and relieves constipation promotes good blood circulation and happy, healthy hearts calms the mind and restores mental peace while encouraging concentration Play Baby Shark and encourage children to lift their chest a little bit higher with each shark Remember to remind children to listen to their body & only do what feels good. How to do pose: 1. Lay down on your belly with your forehead on the floor and arms by your sides. 2. Make a fin! Place your hands on your lower back and make strong fists! 3. Reach your fists up and away as you lift your head and heart forward and up. 4. Lift your legs into a shark tail! Make a shark face! 5. Release your arms and legs and rest one cheek on the floor. 6. Repeat steps 1 - 4 and rest opposite check on the floor 7. Finish with the counter-pose Child’s pose Have fun #sharkawarenessday #sharkpose #shalabasana See more

23.01.2022 On Guinea Pig appreciation day we found a little fury friend to demonstrate a fun and challenging core strengthening pose AKA the side plank. This whole body pose builds strength in the tummy, chest, back, shoulders, arms and wrists. While also developing balance and coordination. Children love to challenge their balance. There’s so much fun in holding as long as they can before tumbling down and trying again. ... This also teaches them mental stamina and perseverance. Remember to do it on both sides of the body for that all important balance. Ask children to check in with themselves to see which side was easier & encourage them to stay up a little longer on their more challenging side. Most importantly remind them to only do what feels good for their body, breathe and have FUN! #guineapigappreciationday #sideplankposeforkids #balancingposes See more

18.01.2022 Warming up Do-in style! . So what is Do-in? DO (pronounced dough) IN! A self-massage technique to stimulate & to shift energy. We use this in every class as part of our warm up routine.... Try it for yourself: Tap your fingertips quite firmly over your head area, top, sides, back & into neck area. Tap along the forehead & jaw, feeling for any "sore" spots. These are blocked energy do spend a little longer on them to shift that energy. Make a fist with your palm & pound on along & down your arm& into your palm on the thumb pads. Roll forward & pound into your lower back Pound over your whole lung & rib cage area to stimulate lungs. Continue pounding down legs, on the outside thigh, inside thigh, top of the thigh & back. Squeeze along calves with your thumbs , fingers over your shin. Repeat 3 times. Sit still, close your eyes, breathe deeply & enjoy the tingly sensation spreading through your body - your stimulated energy! #selfmassage #do-in #feelingenergised See more
