11.01.2022 Changes to the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor are common after childbirth and can make some daily tasks a little bit more challenging. Luckily these can be ...managed through physiotherapy treatment and prescribed exercise activities. Call your local physio to chat about your options, whether that be a telehealth appointment or in-clinic consultation. Either way, you can be assured that your health is their top priority. 08.01.2022 We are looking for a full time Physiotherapist with musculoskeletal/private practice experience to join our young, vibrant team for an immediate start. We have 3 other Physiotherapists, an Exercise Physiologist, Massage Therapist and a musculoskeletal doctor of all whom are part of the team. Our case load includes a mix of private patients with sporting injuries/post surgical rehab, workers compensation, medicare referrals, NDIS & CTP patients. We have an onsite gym and pri...vate treatment rooms, with sessions being one on one with each patient. We also run exercises classes so there is opportunity to become involved in this. There is full administration and financial support for professional development. There is also the opportunity to have one on one weekly training with the principal physiotherapist. We are supported with referrals by a number of GP's, sport physicians and surgeons to give a great mixture of patients. This position would ideally suit someone with at least 2 years of private practice experience, however all applications will be considered. Remuneration is dependent on experience. See more

08.01.2022 After your morning run/walk, try the humble burpee! What is a burpee? It’s well known for being the most gruelling exercise created. BUT it reaps so many benefi...ts: Uses nearly all the muscles in the body Builds power Cardiovascular endurance 4 steps to the perfect burpee: Go to a squat position with hands on the ground Kick your feet back into a plank position and drop your chest down Jump the feet back to the starting squat Stand straight up or jump high, and give yourself a clap! Not confident? Focus on the control and your form when doing each step to avoid unnecessary stress on your ankles, knees and lower back. If you feel a loss of control or pain during this movement, stop what you’re doing. You might benefit from chatting with your physio about your technique or other appropriate exercises to achieve your fitness goals. #stayfitsaturday #choosephysio #weekendworkout #burpees

05.01.2022 Can you hear that? It’s the excitement of gyms finally reopening their doors! But don’t be too hasty and try lifting that pre-lockdown PB straight away. Talk to your physio for advice on the best way to ease back into the weights. For more information, head to www.choose.physio/exercise

05.01.2022 Now that the gyms are back open, remember to build your fitness up gradually to avoid injury

04.01.2022 Ready to get back to the gym post-iso? Be sure to follow these tips from physios around Australia to make your return without injury as smooth as possible. Wa...rm-up and cool-down properly using stretching, foam-rolling and icing techniques to aid in your recovery. Drop your pre-iso weight by 20-30% and gradually increase the weight over four-eight weeks depending on your age and fitness level. Get your form checked by a professional and ensure you are controlled and slow in your repetitions. Don't go too hard, too early! Build up to your pre-iso levels as your muscles and tendons will have likely shrunk, making you more susceptible to injury. Check in with your local physio to avoid injury and manage your return to full capacity. For more recommendations from APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist Julie Campbell, MACP, and Brooke Patterson, APAM, on returning to the gym, head to https://ab.co/2XPA3Z6 #StayFitSaturday #gym #choosephysio #weekendworkout
