25.01.2022 Hi Brothers, it is with sadness in our hearts that we have to inform you that after recurring illness, Uncle has passed on. We will surely miss him out on that highway with us. So many great memories from riding together over the last ten years.

22.01.2022 CRI 13/04 Castlemaine A good sized group of 21 people gathered for our monthly to the Central Victorian town of Castlemaine. The day was overcast but without any real nip of winter. A cruisey, untroubled run on the Monash freeway set the scene for most of the days ride. Our first stop was our feature destination for the day, Hadfields hot rod museum at Castlemaine. This town is known as the Premier Hotrod town of Victoria, hosting many enthusiast events throughout the year, a...nd certainly Hadfields is an institution here. After enjoying a nice American retro style lunch at the Cadillac Shack cafe, we travelled roads with mostly open fields which pleasantly changed to large canopied avenue style trees welcoming us and bidding us farewell through the towns of Hepburn and Daylesford. Beautiful and busy little towns. It was a day of mostly open and direct roads but we did manage to get in some nice curves in the afternoon before we ended up for a final coffee at the Calder service centre. See more

20.01.2022 Bendigo- 11.1.20 21 riders joined in for our first monthly ride for the year. Cloudy but mild conditions. Although some chill in the air till after lunch and bushfire smoke haze made for some unusual riding conditions. A great uncomplicated freeway run up the Monash towards Tullamarine. Not far past the back of the airport, riding through Wildwood through some nice twisties, and the beginning of the type of riding we love. Then a short section of starkly interesting, dry tree...less valley, and on to our morning tea stop at Romsey. After some sustenance we travelled through northern country roads, which very quickly became narrow with almost no other traffic . Initially the roads were framed with eucalyptus and open, golden brown, hilly land beyond them. The continued landscape for many kilometres did not show a lot of greenery but was nonetheless an interesting hilly vista, dotted with native trees. We motored our through Mia Mia and the back of Lake Eppalock and arrived, of course, to Bendigo Harley. Besides a bit of a look see, we had the bonus of a nice caf adjoining this biking establishment. We travelled home via the Calder freeway and the regularly positioned fixed speed cameras encouraged us to continue as law abiding citizens. Nice travelling. Even when we hit the city and Burnley tunnel at the end of our ride as a group, and the tunnel was mercilessly hot and a crawling pace. But soon left that behind us and it didnt dampen a great day all round. See more

17.01.2022 CRI October Ride - Mirboo North 17 bikes headed off on a pleasant spring morning, with Sky leading the charge to navigate a scenic route through to our morning tea stop in South Gippsland. Through the Gurdies to Wonthagi, we were treated to a variety of beautiful hilly green landscapes. A hilltop winding road section in this area, provided interesting riding conditions with an insistent crosswind hang on tight to your handle bars boys. After our coffee break we enjoyed more of this picturesque countryside, with great condition roads and nice sweeping turns, where we travelled to our main stop further north in Gippsland- Mirboo north. A nice spaced out relaxed lunch spot.

16.01.2022 CRI 11/05 Noojee A great attendance of around 16 riders were not deterred by the cool, drizzly and slippery conditions that were on the menu today. This route always promises an interesting ride, no matter the conditions. The early part of the travel is into the Baw Baw shire area and onto our morning coffee stop. We ride through Ripplebrook first, and the mountain bushland scenery is shrouded with mist and a blanket of light precipitation. Ahhh - a nice warming coffee at Dr...ouin. Wet grey conditions till past Blue Rock lake, then a bit of weather tease with some sneaky sun poking through for just a bit. Roads wet and slippery and adjustment needed to ride to the conditions. But the interesting and fun twisties dont leave any room for disappointment. Grey as the day was, there was autumn colour mixed amoungst the native bushland. Lunch stop at the Noojee pub. Onwards to fuel up along the Warburton Hwy. before we jump onto more of the winding stuff and then a goodbye stop at Gembrook. This was a ride to keep your wits about you at all times and made for a challenging but very enjoyable day. See more

16.01.2022 CRI September Ride - Yea & St. Andrews Understandably, due to the promise of dry and sunny spring weather, and a ripper morning to start with, 21 riders started the days travels. Several more riders joined us along the way. A cruisy, uninterrupted freeway ride to start but before we knew it we were exiting urban traffic straight into picturesque outer eastern Melbourne suburbs of with Warrandyte and Kangaroo Ground. We enjoyed our morning tea stop at the busy but chilled out ...atmosphere of St. Andrews market. We then hit the road, heading out through Murrindindi and Kinglake through whole-lot-of-fun twisties. Not particularly wide roads but traffic was minor and we mostly had it all to ourselves. Great roads were framed with some deciduous trees still shaking off winter slumber but plenty of springtime blooms. Along with early spring wattle flowering and a variety of eucalyptus greens. Through rolling undulating pasturelands, dotted with peacefully grazing cows, we made our way onto, and through, the amazing and exciting Black Spur. Always loved for its tall eucalypts and ferns and fantastic curvy roads. Passing recovery vehicles and a pretty banged up bike, a reminder to always have your wits about you on the two wheels. We finished off a great ride by a gathering at the Beechworth Bakery in Healesville. A really enjoyable day that would have been appreciated by all - considering the last several monthly rides offering less than wonderful riding conditions, and sending us to spend more time in coffee shops than on the road.
