22.01.2022 OUR MANAGER - Mia Hetherington Mias Classes TUES - 6:00pm - YIN/YANG WED - 5:45am SUNRISE FLOW... Mia first found yoga as a full time ballet dancer at a performing arts school. Some days Mia found that she enjoyed yoga more than ballet itself. As a ballet dancer you are told to stand behind the person you want to be better than and to be better than you were the day before. This encouraged improvement, however can bring up negative thoughts about yourself. In yoga you are moving in a way that benefits your body that day. Listening to the body and how its telling us to move. The goal may be to improve but it does not matter if you dont. In yoga you move in a way that reflects how the body is feeling in that moment. It is all about living in the present rather than obsessing over your next goal for the future. Mia then moved to Princeton, New Jersey for a year to begin her professional ballet career. Here she found a small yoga studio in her town to continue her practice on her one day off a week. Continuing her practice allowed her to calm the busy thoughts of ballet and homesickness. Due to an injury Mia returned back home and had to find a new path in life. This was challenging when all that she ever knew was taken from her. She did know that she could always find peace in the yoga studio though. Here she was able to forget all of her stresses and worries. Mia has now completed her HSC via Distance Education and has many jobs in which she loves. In yoga, we all have a Dharma - a purpose in life - Mia believes that some can have many dharmas. Alongside teaching and managing Connect The Dots, Mia also teaches yoga and dance to people of all ages, is a disability support worker and a preschool entertainer. Mia is currently also at uni studying primary school teaching. In her busy life, Mia is alway able to come back to stillness and quietness on her mat. Mia is always participating in teacher trainings and is continuously deepening her yoga practice on and off the mat. Dont let anyone tell you what to do or how to feel. Only you can decide your own unique path and how you decide to look at things in life. You can choose the life you live. Do what your heart enjoys and feel what your heart needs to feel for you to be able to live at your fullest. YOU HAVE GOT THIS!

21.01.2022 Sundays thoughts. Letting go has got to be one of the toughest things we are asked to do. Our hardest asana. I encourage you that if your holding on to something that is leaving you with tension, negative energy, anxiety using yoga will allow you to work through these feelings and allow the new perspective to emerge that will change not only your mood but your body and soul!

20.01.2022 Did you know we now offer Reiki healing in our wellness room? Dont know what reiki is well let us share with you... Energy healing has increased in prominence in recent years. Energy work is used to help balance the systems of energy throughout the body to alleviate ailments, stress, anxiety and diseases. There are different approaches that can be taken. The one used at Connect the dots utilises an eclectic approach of energy healing, including reiki, sound therapy and cryst...al healing. Reiki or energy is universal life force energy. It is a non-physical energy which is created to maintain and balance a healthy body and spirit. Through Reiki a practitioner is guiding each person they work with back to healing and balance. We use the main energy centres of the body which are Chakras. These wheels of energy are from the crown of our head to the bottom of our feet. When there is an imbalance in these energy centres or a block there is disruption to the natural flow of energy through the body. This effect can be felt physically, mentally and sometimes spiritually. So let me know if you wish to know more or have a session and work together and share this with you!

16.01.2022 NEW TEACHER - CONNECT THE DOTS OATLEY Yoga Energy has expanded into a second space in Oatley taking over an established and loved community Yoga Studio in the O...atley West municipality. The Studio Connect the Dots Yoga & Wellness promotes the same mission as Yoga Energy, a space for every person to reduce and manage the daily stresses of life. So let me introduce Jess. Jess will be taking a Gentle Class at 8am on Wednesday and Friday. How does this affect you as a Yoga Energy Member? You will now have access to TWO studios for the price of your current subscription giving you the options of up to 40 classes per week. ROAD TRIP! Located 20 minutes from Yoga Energy, visit www.connecthedots.com.au JESS Awareness, acceptance, and alignment with ourselves and our environment are the cornerstones of Jesss yoga classes. After years spent trotting the globe seeking new knowledge, experience, culture, and practices, Jesss eternal curiosity found home, by turning her search within. Meditation came to her early on, as a tool for managing lifes ebbs and flows, and soon became her path to accessing greater meaning, connection, and truth. Having witnessed the potential for transformation and deep healing to take place through awareness, her practice then expanded from introspect, into embodiment, as she explored movement as an essential tool in our kit for living in balance, cultivating presence, and harnessing our potential. Amidst a challenging period of transient ventures abroad, the one thing that was certain was a calling to share the joy of yoga with others. She began her teaching journey with the Conscious Yoga Academy in Greece, in 2018, before returning to Sydney in 2019 to undertake training courses in yin yoga and mindfulness, with Sarah Owen, and Power Living. Now, she continues to expand her explorations with the study of astrology and sacred embodiment circles. Finding peace in stillness, home in the self, and honouring the different lived experiences of each of us, Jess aspires to guide us to that deeper sense of joy and freedom that dwells within us all, through classes that offer a balance of asana, pranayama, and meditation.

15.01.2022 TEACHER FEATURE - Meet Barbara Current Class, Friday 9:30am Barbara started practicing yoga about 16 years ago. I was 22 years old and I had just moved out of home. I was studying full time at university and working part time. Even though I did well at my studies, I found it difficult to maintain balance in my life and I would often feel stressed, anxious and overwhelmed. ... One day, I found an advertisement in my letter box from a lady who was teaching yoga in my area. The classes included asana, pranayama, yogic philosophy, yoga nidra, chanting mantras and meditation. I knew after my very first class that I had discovered something special and I would be practicing yoga for the rest of my life! Yoga has given me the tools to directly experience my true self and to have a connection with that which is greater than myself. I feel very blessed to have discovered yogic teachings in this lifetime and grateful for the opportunity to share this with others.

14.01.2022 MEET LUCY CLASSES - MON - 6PM YIN THURS- 6PM YIN, 7:15PM MEDITATION... Lucy is a yoga and meditation teacher and host of www.lucylich.com Lucy: One day I walked into a local yoga studio after a friend gifted me a one month pass, and little did I know my life would change forever. I never left! I started to notice how yoga made me feel, how it impacted my everyday life and how much I loved the community. Before I knew it, I had a consistent practice, did my teacher training and became a yoga teacher! Today I practice and teach Yin, Vinyasa and Meditation. Ive also recently been exploring Tantra Hatha. My speciality and passion lies in Yin and Meditation although Tantra Hatha is becoming another favourite practice! I love facilitating experiences that give my students the opportunity to reconnect with themselves and feel more calm, peaceful and happy. My classes consist of philosophical life teachings, personal lessons and insights that allows students to take something away into their own lives and to remember we are all in this together. Some of my classes also include sound healing with crystal sound bowls, Native American Flute and Harmonium with sacred sound mantras. Im also passionate about helping other yoga teachers to create and grow their yoga business with heart, purpose and community. To me, yoga is a way of life, a path of service, healing, expanding awareness, connection with Self and each other

13.01.2022 We are incredibly grateful to have our doors open again. Soon we will add two more classes as our classes have wait lists currently. Thank you all for supporting your teachers and us to keep our doors open. ... It takes a community to make a yoga studio work and many have closed their doors during Covid for this reason. You will notice some teachers also missing from our timetable. Sadly, a few had circumstances change and are unable to come back right now and teach. We hope to see them in the future. I hope your practice has allowed for grounding in an ungrounded time in history. Keep a look out for the newness coming in the next few weeks.

13.01.2022 To all the wonderful men (and some women) in our lives we wish you a Happy Fathers Day! We hope you get spoilt like you deserve! Much love the team at Connect the Dots Oatley!

12.01.2022 It is with great sadness and also, great excitement and gratitude that my chapter with Connect the dots has come to an end as of the 1st of August. My heart and soul has been embodied within the vision of Connect the dots for 7 years. We have run retreats, workshops, yoga classes, trauma informed yoga classes, trainings and sacred circles plus so much more. At the beginning of 2018, I took on the yoga studio and moved it to a trauma informed space. It became clear at the end... of last year that it was time to move on from this chapter and continue services in a trauma Informed way up on the mid north coast. It has been such an honour to see many people transform in this space and or be a part of something bigger. To watch the community change and shift and the teachers also grow has been incredible. Ive also grown a lot in this time and will be looking to embark on a PhD after a break. Kate from YogaEnergy in Menai will hold you in beautiful space and continue to build the dream at Oatley. Everything will remain as is except for some nice studio lifts. I will continue to run workshops, trainings and retreats and you can find me @kate_schubert for my new website and offerings. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the depths of my heart A newsletter will come shortly with more information.

11.01.2022 Are you looking for a gentle slow class? Well Slow Flow at 4pm this afternoon has spots available. It will be a time to reconnect with your breath and body. A time just for yourself. DM or message Bronnie for details and to book in. 0451325585

11.01.2022 Love this image uploaded to Pinterest by unknown. There is so much peace in intention, ritual and prayer. What these look like to individuals is all different and we can rest in the space of differentiation to know that all of it is relevant. Yoga is a way for us to move back in to the sacred shall we choose. To move from a space of openness and reciprocity. When we take care of ourselves and our own needs, we open up to more than just our own story. We open to how important... it is to look after each other and the planet. Our classes are on all weekend and soon our Sunday afternoon yin class will return.

11.01.2022 TEACHER FEATURE - MEET BROOKE CURRENT CLASSES SUNRISE FLOW FRIDAYS 5:45AM YIN SATURDAY 9:00AM... "Yoga for me is a spiritual practice. Some people find God/the Sacred in Church, some people find it in nature, others worship it when they look after their kids. For me, yoga is my primary way of worshipping the divine spirit within myself and coming back home to that deep place. I came to yoga through anxiety, and honestly can say that yoga felt the most at home in myself I had ever felt. I re-entered into yoga after a period of deep darkness, trauma and breakdown. Yoga was the light that kept me going through that period of utter darkness. I have been gifted with profound shifts through yoga, and I think just having that space for presence is so healing. I wish to bring that deep connection to self to each of my classes, and allow you to find the home within you. The place that is untouched and completely whole. We can talk about it, but once you really feel it, it changes you. I hope to give you a full experience of yourself beyond who you think you are, and the goodness and wholeness that you innately are."

06.01.2022 MEET NAOMI CURRENT CLASS - 4:30pm SUNDAY YIN I have a deep passion for integrating yoga, meditation and healing sound to meet the personal needs of students. I love the simplicity of yoga, especially yin and the invitation these longer holds present to slow down, soften and listen deeply with self-awareness and compassion. For me, this is when the magic happens! I endeavour to meet each person where they are, offering options, use of props and strongly encouraging personal ...agency at all times. I also facilitate sacred circles time and space for deep listening and being heard. It is rare that you will see me without a Tibetan singing bowl or perhaps Native American flute I find sound a deeply transformative and healing accompaniment to my offerings. To date, Ive completed nearly 500 hours of yoga, meditation and yin yoga teacher training, in addition to Sacred Circle training. I love learning, growing, expanding and softening becoming more of myself. I started yoga in 1994 to support my meditation practice while working as a remedial massage therapist and Reiki practitioner. It was also around this time that I bought my first two singing bowls. I took a break from yoga while I focused on parenting and completing an honours degree in psychology and neuroscience in the early 2000s. So, what brought me back to yoga? Recurring, debilitating chronic back pain. Turned out, this was a profound gift, as I returned to my yoga mat with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to my health and wellbeing. This was a real turning point in my life, drawing on my internal resources and capacity for healing and recognising this as integral to my desire to serve others. Now days, yoga and meditation are my daily anchor and reminder of the ever-present choice to respond from my heart with love, kindness and humility. I love sharing yoga, meditation and sound with others who are looking to establish or deepen their personal practice - on and off the mat. Curious beginners and more experienced students are all warmly welcomed, just as you are. My motto In serving others, I serve my Self. In serving my Self, I serve others. I look forward to seeing you soon!
