25.01.2022 Suncorp Super Netball delivering the goods on a Wednesday night! Nothing like a bit of controversy to make it onto the front and back pages of the newspaper. Join the debate in the comments if you wish, did you see the match? do you agree with the send-off or are you as bemused as Sue Gaudion and Catherine Cox? Forever we have been told not to question the umpires, and we certainly don't want to see it at Saturday club netball, but this is the pinnacle of international club ...netball, we should discuss it, we want people to have an opinion, this is the kind of thing that will bring netball into the loungerooms of people who might not have had any previous interest. In our opinion, you don't get to that elite level of our sport with the intent to hurt or deliberately initiate dangerous contact with an opponent, we do expect some fierce contests and the occasional big collision, it helps make the spectacle after all. Let us know what you think, let's get netball trending worldwide and bring it to a new audience! See more
25.01.2022 Happy Friday Netballers! Shout out to our Club Supporter Club Central Hurstville, if you are not a member you can get a discount to join right now! Follow the link below. DAY THREE and COVID 19 REMINDER... * Please remember to social distance while at netball tomorrow * If you have visited or been in contact with someone that has visited a known 'hot spot' for COVID 19 please reconsider the need to attend netball training or matches * Remember that there are limits in place for attendance at Netball, The public health order legislates for one parent/guardian per player, SSNA have a preference for 15 people per team (incl players, coach, umpire and parents) at Bellingara Road or the Ridge, 20 people per team for Seymour Shaw. * Although we would love to see you all day, its important to arrive and leave in the 10 mins either side of your scheduled match time. This reminder is for your protection and the safety of others in our netball family. Please ensure you take all the necessary measures to keep safe and help keep netball running.
24.01.2022 Recently at the SSNA AGM there was discussion about seeing covid rules still in place for 2021... in our view this would be completely out of step with the current easing of restrictions. Whilst we encouraged everyone in 2020 to be mindful of the rules and stay safe we never supported leaving kids unattended at the netball courts. Hopefully this is the return to full attendance at community sport where mums and dads can once again support and supervise their kids at netball!
24.01.2022 Fancy a weeks holiday? Join Club Central Hurstville for three years and you could win! Remember when you sign up or renew to nominate connells point Netball club as your local community organisation! Club Central has been massive for us with their financial support this season and we can not thank them enough, but making sure you are all members would probably do the trick
24.01.2022 Ready to go for day 3. Good luck if youre playing today, keep your social distancing and Go Connells!

24.01.2022 Happy Wednesday netballers! Things to remember 1. Tonight is round 4 of the NNSW Premier League competition and the Stingrays will be playing live online via the link https://www.nnswpremierleague.com.au/live-streams/... 2. This weekend is ROUND 5 of the SSNA winter competition not long to go until ALL teams are involved in the playoff series on days 8 and 9 to determine winners of season 2020 COVID update: NSW continues to see positive cases of coronavirus being identified, there is a small number each day which can not be linked to an existing source, which is cause for concern among the wider community. So please remember 1. please ensure that if you have been to a known hot spot recently, you reconsider the need to attend training or matches. 2. If you are feeling sick, please do not attend netball and seek further advice as to whether you should get tested for Covid-19 3. Please ensure you train with your team only, enter and exit the training facilities quickly and efficiently without stopping to socialise with players from other teams. 4. Ensure that you, within your teams, are following the recommendations provided by SSNA and the NSW Health Department with regards to attendance at matches and the restrictions in place at your competition venue. 5. Consider being a trend setter and wear a face mask in places where social distancing is difficult to maintain That will do, won't it... it's getting tiresome, but of course, this is our new normal until a vaccine can be found and implemented. Stay safe netballers... see you round like a netball.
23.01.2022 Well that’s a wrap on the 2020 Winter season! Thank you to all our club supporters Finch Financial Services Club Central Hurstville Blue Tongue Campers... Hand Made by You IGA South Hurstville Brickwood Building Georges River Council Mark Coure MP David Coleman - Member for Banks These commercial and government supporters really do have a massive impact on our club, it is with their support that we are able to continue to provide our members with all that we do. If you can support our commercial sponsors we would really appreciate it and of course we wouldn’t dare tell you how to vote but every few years it’s worth remembering that our local, state and federal representatives really do contribute to our club and politics aside we have developed a great relationship at all levels of government and we thank them all greatly. Thank you to YOU our members The club doesn’t exist without you, our administrators obviously do a handy job at putting things together but YOU are the stars of the show. We love every single one of our players, coaches, umpires and families, today’s event after a difficult year and Still under some restrictions is a wonderful reflection of how inclusive and welcoming our club and its members are to everyone. 38 teams in 2020, a club record and after 13 years at SSNA we have grown from being the ‘club on the other side of the bridge’ to a true powerhouse of the sport in both the St George district and Sutherland Shire. But it’s not over is it! 17 teams competing in the summer night Comp and a megastar lineup as we head into summer with the Summer Series. Register on the website or via Facebook and use you active kids voucher and it will be free. We’ve said it before and every year it gets truer Connells Point Netball Club The greatest club in the St George area and competing In the strongest club competition in Australia at the Sutherland Shire Netball Association (And winning!) 23.01.2022 For those that were booked last week.
22.01.2022 We have fond memories of our time at St George Netball Association, we know there has been little in terms of upgrades since we departed in 2008. So we would like to share our congratulations to them for securing a great share of funding to provide better facilities for everyone. The upside for connells point is that St George will not be able to run a summer social competition. STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS As we attempt to convene a competition at Olds Park for the summer season.
22.01.2022 Hello CP Legends, and all the other netball legends that follow our page. Sad news today that 2020 Senior and Junior State Titles have been canceled. This is due to the ongoing threat of coronavirus in NSW and the risk of taking the disease to regional areas who have been previously unaffected. As disappointing as this is, our club understands the reasons for the decision and will do what we can to support the club members who were due to participate. Further to this, there ...is new advice in relation to the types of activities we can hold such as postseason functions, post-training group dinners, and other face to face social activities. We have not been able to digest all the information that has been provided in the update on 17th of August so if you have a question you might refer to the link to the NSW Office of Sport below. We will be in attendance at an SSNA delegates meeting tomorrow night (Wed 19th) and hope to be able to clarify any further changes to the remainder of the season. On the plus side, there were only 2 new cases reported for Monday 17th August, and we hope to see this eliminated to 0 new cases in the days ahead, We can all help by taking the advice of keeping a safe distance from each other, wearing a face mask where distancing is difficult to achieve, staying home if we show signs of being sick and not buying excess toilet paper at the shops As always we will keep you up to date with any changes in circumstance. Much Love Connie the Penguin
22.01.2022 Last night 16 Connells Point coaches attended a training session with the SSNA Stingrays. The Head Coaches of the Stingrays Maria Lynch and Craig Marsh ran the session whilst educating our coaches on how to incorporate fitness and skill practice into their training sessions while making sure it is relevant to on-court situations. All our coaches had some great takeouts from the session and we look forward to them using their new knowledge with their teams as we head into the... final weeks of 2020. Connells Point has committed some money to the Stingrays program as a sponsor in 2020 and we thank them for this exclusive opportunity that we have been able to offer to our coaches free of charge. We are committed to offering all our members the opportunity to better themselves and in turn make our club better The Stingrays are our team in the Netball NSW Origin Premier League, you can watch their matches online on a Wednesday evening at https://www.bartvsports.com.au/netball/ Or you can go back through the archives and watch some of the games from earlier in the season. 19.01.2022 Tonight is round one of the Netball NSW Origin Energy Premier League competition. Do you even know who the Stingrays are? The Stingrays are the Premier League franchise that represents the Sutherland Shire Netball Association. It would be an extremely long post if we explained everything but essentially, This franchise is the only one in the competition that is supported by a single association. Connells Point Netball Club is extremely lucky to be a part of the Sutherland ...Shire Netball Association where a pathway is created exclusively for SSNA members from NET (modified) netball all the way through to the NSW Premier League. 18.01.2022 The forecast for tomorrow is rain, but we think netball will still be on. Everyone has done a remarkable job at limiting numbers and staying safe since the return of the season, but as always we can learn from experience, so here is a reminder and some tips for tomorrow and the weeks ahead. 1. Remember at all times to Social Distance if you are standing around the sidelines 2. Remember to fist pump or elbow bump instead of shaking hands or cuddling your mates from a differe...nt household. 3. Before your game, try to stay in your car while the previous game attendees are exiting, to avoid large gatherings at the gates. 4. Try to arrive just 10 minutes before your scheduled start time 5. At the conclusion of your game, take note of your coach's feedback and then exit as quickly as possible, stop for an ice-cream on the way home and enjoy the rest of your Saturday. 6. Sanitise your hands with the pump packs on the gates OR from the sanitiser that has been allocated to all CP coaches. 7. If you have visited a known hot spot within the last 14 days please re-consider your need to attend netball 8. If you feel unwell we will miss you dearly but please stay home! 9. Facemasks are becoming a fashionable accessory, so feel free to draw your best version of the CP logo and wear one with pride. 10. Where possible please try to limit the numbers at each game so we can all stay safe We know it seems like there are a lot of 'rules' but of course they are suggestions in place to help us all beat the coronavirus, stay healthy and keep playing netball.
18.01.2022 Here are our little nettas at their post gala day party down at the clubhouse Facebook wont let us add photos and videos together so we will post their trophy winning cheer video tomorrow!

This is a great opportunity for our coaches to learn from a current High-Performance Coach and soon to be Elite Level Coach Maria Lynch and Craig Marsh are the head coaches within the Stingrays program and have set aside this session with their sub-elite quality playing roster to help our Connells Point, coaching team. Watch as these highly skilled athletes are put through their paces from experienced and qualified coaches, learn how a skill should be performed, and see what it looks like when done correctly. Don't be surprised if some of the activities look like something you could do with your under 11C grade team. If we can get our full allowance of 20 coaches to attend, that means up to 200 kids will benefit from having better coaches. This is the first time we have been able to provide this type of experience so don't miss out! Did we mention this is FREE? Thanks to the continued financial support of Club Central Hurstville pop over to their Facebook page and throw them a like on their new logo!

04.01.2022 SEASON 2021 @ Connells Point Netball Club The current club administration have been involved with Connells Point continuously for the last 32 years, we have played at two different associations during this period and things have changed on and off the court faster than you could possibly imagine. One thing has remained the same: The commitment to CPNC being a family oriented, community focused, Inclusive and inspirational organisation. Our members have designed our last 2 un...iforms Our members designed and voted for Connie the Penguin, Our members made the decision to move to SSNA. We have been lucky enough over the past three seasons to have our facilities at Poulton Park upgraded to the tune of over $1 million with new courts, new and safer amenities and an exclusive storage area and co-branded club house. 2019 saw our best ever season of results across all grades and took us to the top 3 in terms of performance at SSNA On top of this, season 2020 marks the most registered players ever recorded at Connells Point Netball. So as you all prepare for the 'off season' we are busy preparing to make sure your club is ready for 2021 and we want you to play your part. WE WANT YOU TO DESIGN OUR NEW 2021 UNIFORM It has been nearly 10 years since we had an upgrade to our uniform. Over time we have seen a few variations and now it is time to see everyone in the same kit. We hope to be able to offer the new dress for as little as $19* and we remain mindful that cost is a hurdle for a lot of families so we will be doing our best to contribute the bulk of the cost on your behalf, we have been applying for grants and this will determine just how much we can afford to contribute to the cost. As always only the dress is compulsory but we will have a full range of players gear, umpires gear and supporters gear for 2021. WE HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR ZIP PAY This means if the expense of playing netball in 2021 comes at the wrong time with back to school, high school, post Christmas, back to work, Easter, for any reason whatsoever you will be able to make installments over a 6 month period to make it more affordable. Of course you will still be able to use your Active Kids Vouchers and have the option to pay like you have done previously. The design competition will start on Monday and close on 30 September, we will post instructions over the weekend and the winning designer will get their FULL KIT supplied for 2021
04.01.2022 Further to the update provided yesterday by the NSW Health Department, we have been able to confirm that local netball can still continue as planned. This is great news for all our junior and senior netballers and means we will be able to complete the final 2 rounds of the competition as well as the all in finals series, a total of 4 remaining weeks of play. This of course, even with the week off in September for the SSC cleanup, falls within the 6 week period that the new a...dvice has been given and is effective from TODAY. In addition to this news, we have decided to postpone any end of season presentation/party/function until at least the middle of October, which allows us to be compliant with the updated advice regarding face to face social events. It may be that we are unable to facilitate an end of season event at all, but rather than simply cancel it, we will keep our options open. If there is no end of season event, you can bet your life on a mega party to kick-off 2021. NSW is doing a great job at suppressing the virus, Netballers around the state including all of you, have been enormously flexible in following some inconvenient rules to enable play to restart and continue. We know of some districts that have had to cancel their entire season, so we acknowledge the hard work of SSNA and our friends in our competitor clubs in making sure we have been able to salvage something out of season 2020. In other news, it has been confirmed today that PENGUINS such as Connie, The Connells Point Penguin. Are in fact native to Australia. #fact #uselesstrivia or indeed perhaps #useful trivia See you all on the weekend!!
03.01.2022 CP 9 year Proteas with some seriously crazy socks and their end of season medals! Its kind of appropriate in 2020 that we are here for a good time and not a long time! We hope youve enjoyed your season because you look so happy, and that makes us happy too!
03.01.2022 No decision yet on tomorrows matches Looks like we will be up early looking out the window and updating Facebook for all our members. If you havent heard anything and there is no update here please proceed to the courts as scheduled ...
02.01.2022 DAY 9 (Final, Grand Final, Last Day) however you would like to refer to it. IMPORTANT UPDATES This Saturday marks the last day of the winter season and we want to congratulate all of our members for managing to get through the year CORONA FREE ... As you know the competition has been conducted with limited spectators in attendance and this weekend sadly will be no different. There is a requirement to keep each zone at Bellingara to under 500 people, SSNA has given guidance of 14 people per team plus the umpire. One important change to the public health order that has come in to effect this week, is that now ALL people attending an event can be fined for a breach of the order, which includes a higher number of attendees than allowed. Previously this was limited to the event organiser. We understand that last weekend with the conclusion of the Seymour Shaw competition at Barden Ridge that a complaint was made to the police regarding the numbers in attendance. It is reasonable to assume that the local residents may indeed report the event this weekend as well, so we want our members to be absolutely clear that we would love all of you to be in attendance but that it is not mathematically possible under the Public Health Order. Throughout the season spectators have congregated outside the fence and spilled onto the car park, In our view, this is also risky as very little social distancing occurs here. For your safety and the safety of all other attendees and for the last time (ever, we hope) We remind you to please only attend the matches this weekend if it is absolutely necessary. The ideal grouping would be something like: 8 players 1 coach 1 manager 1 umpire 4 additional spectators Feel free to rotate spectators by quarters or by halves, remember to social distance, and count us all lucky we don't live in Victoria
