22.01.2022 Fun Facts Friday Introducing Bec Feldtmann who is in charge of our Accounts and Administration at Connex Group. Where did you grow up? A few different areas around Vic. Spent my Primary school years in Colbinabbin a small town with a population of 200. We then moved to Melton for 3 years. My teenagers years were spent in the Wimmera town of Horsham.... How long have you lived in the area? About 18 Years Career: After leaving school I studied Early Childhood Education in Albury. I have been working in Primary Schools around the area for the past 20 years. I love teaching but over the past year and a half I have been mainly concentrating on the business, fitting in a few casual teaching days here and there. Enjoyment/ Leisure: I love camping and spending time with my family. I also enjoy walking and being near the water. Favourite Food: I can’t survive without my morning coffee, just ask Kevin and our boys! I also love a good Hot Curry! 04.01.2022 We have been making good use of our Trimble X7 scanner. Taking on a wide range of projects that require extension or connecting into existing structures. This little unit along with it's software allows us to capture huge amounts of data from site about our existing conditions. We can then import the photo-colorized point cloud into our 3D software. This saves us time and effectively allows us to produce our 3D model around these colorized points and connect into exciting Structures accurately. 02.01.2022 Introducing Damian Watson, our General Manager of Operations & Technology. Where did you grow up? While I was born in Wangaratta, I lived most of my early childhood in Rockhampton QLD. Moved back to Wangaratta in my early teens.... How long have you lived in the area? 17 years Career: Through out high school I worked at Eagle Boys pizza started as a dish pig and worked my way up to store manager. I studied engineering and project management and started working with Kevin at Quantech Design and Connex Group. In 2018 I joined Kevin as a business partner. Favourite part of your job? I have a bit of a passion for Problem solving and our industry isn’t short of problems to solve. I also love working with our teams, and watching them constantly improve and grow. Enjoyment/ Leisure: I am someone who likes to try different things. I get the most satisfaction from creating/ building. Also hiking, or just being somewhere new. And yeah can't go past the usual spending time with family and friends. Favourite Food: A nicely cooked steak or homemade pizza. 01.01.2022 Some photos of the Merri Creek Bridge which has now been completed and open to the public since September. It spans 77m over the Merri Creek, with the Tower Mast 28m in height. The pedestrian bridge safely joins Northcote and East Brunswick.
