22.01.2022 Special thanks to Suzie Q from Country in the Valley on 88.5 fm for her awesome program today where she shared live songs and wonderful feedback on air from our event last weekend when we played the inaugural Crystal Swan Acoustic Club.! Very much appreciated. THANK YOU again to Suzie Q and the Crew at 88.5 fm.

22.01.2022 Learning other artist's hits has a great value to me when it comes to learning new skills (and what makes a song a hit). I have always been a 'flat picker' (using a guitar pick) as opposed to a finger picker and so, have just begun learning to finger pick. The easiest way to practise is to apply your technique to OPS (Other People's songs). :-) Here is a sped up version of 'Girl Crush' - the song that was a huge hit for Little Big Town. Footage courtesy of Shelly Moore a...nd taken at last Sunday's Crystal Swan Acoustic Club Cruise. Accompanying me on guitar is Ray Jones (out of view). Songwriters: Lori McKenna, Liz Rose & Hillary Lindsey See more

21.01.2022 Last Sunday at the Crystal Swan Acoustic Club, I was asked to sing a suitable song in dedication to a lovely couple who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. So, my mind went into overload thinking what would be appropriate and I came up with Shania Twain's song; 'You're Still the One' (which I don't do very often - yikes!) It was a quick mental brush up and off I went, fluffing the chord change twice. Video footage: Shelly Moore... Songwriters: Robert John Lange / Shania Twain https://www.facebook.com/shelly.moore.9083/videos/10156703649722395

19.01.2022 I hadn't really planned on singing and playing this song .... but the cameradarie and atmosphere on the Crystal Swan was so warm and so typically Aussie, I decided to do so on the spur of the moment. I hold a strong belief that as entertainers, we must be in service to our audience, and so this was one of those moments. I am accompanied by Ray Jones and Charlie Scott. I must also pay my respects to the songwriters, Dobe Newton and Bruce Woodley and extend my apologies for ...fluffing two of the lines on I am Australian. Even though I know the words, my brain was becoming a little frazzled by the end of the day! Fortunately, I have learned not to wince any more when I make a mistake ... :-) Have a wonderful day folks! 09.01.2022 So here's the same song - different version - different year - still on the Billy Block Show at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, with the late and great wonderful Billy on drums: 'Steamy Dreams' https://www.facebook.com/96992343594/videos/10201133695837319
