25.01.2022 On Friday I received a lovely text from the Cancer Council in relation to the money Conon Road raised at our Biggest Morning Tea in May. It is so rewarding to know that the funds helped and supported a family in need. Please read below. Hi Bernice, I wanted to let you know that this week, thanks to your Biggest Morning Tea, we were able to help one of our cancer patients with a session of complementary gardening. She & her husband had been too overwhelmed by the cancer journey to tend to the garden& are so grateful for the help. Thank you for making a real difference! Joanne Jones, Cancer Council WA

17.01.2022 Australia Day shirt decorating Austin spent his time deciding what his interpretation of "Australia" was and what he wanted to display on his shirt... He picked a "Kangaroo" and asked Lauren for her input on what he could add to it, we discussed animal tracks and he explained that he knew that Kangaroo's have two foot prints and a tail print when they move! ... He added a waterhole down the bottom for the Kangaroo to swim in and drink from. Austin used his imagination and creative expression to display a story through a visual design in which he hand crafted. 15.01.2022 Can you SEE what we've been doing? Playdough is one of the most versatile activities that is enjoyed across the board by all ages at Conon Road. Veronica came up with this clever little set up and our friends absolutely adored it! By adding a range of materials to the table, the children are able to freely explore their imagination and share with us what they see, feel and love. As educators we love spending time with each individual and learning about them and what makes th...eir mind tick. This little activity did just that! 13.01.2022 Conon Road Meets The Bad Chicken! As we begin to celebrate Australia day, We invited Justin Carpenter into Conon Road to share with us, his new book - The Bad Chicken. Justin is a local Perth author, who has written his first children's book and shared a preview reading with us before books hit the stores in the next coming weeks! ... We have a limited number of books for SALE at Conon Road for only $15!!! (r.r.p $24.95) - Be sure to get in quick and secure yourself the newest, funniest story there is about a relatable little chicken! The children sat, engaged in the story as they studied each picture with intense focus and concentration not to miss page! Some of the children guessed what the bad chicken was up to and what might come next.... Justin took the time for a little Q&A after the reading had ended to continue inspiring the children's many ideas about the bad chicken and his whereabouts! 12.01.2022 Great day at Conon Road participating in silly games! This one is "Cheeto throw". The children wear shower caps with shaving foam and then the other child throws Cheeto's. The one with the most wins. One of Connor's creative fun ideas.

11.01.2022 Registration Open Day / / MANNING RIPPERS FOOTBALL - A reminder Club Registration Open Day is on this Sunday 23rd February from 10am to 12pm at James Miller Ova...l, Jarman Avenue, Manning. Club committee members, coaches and team representatives will be on hand to answer questions, footy merchandise will be available for sizing and purchase (stock limited) Come down even if it's just to say G'day, there will be some fun activities and a sausage sizzle... it's closer than Bunnings!

08.01.2022 This holidays PEARLER BEADS have been one of our most popular activities day in, day out! The children get so much out if this simple and enjoyable experience. We see some children use their creations to enhance and create dramatic play scenes among themselves and peers while we see others turn them into magnets or bag chains and some use them to make jewellery! Every few weeks a new theme fades through the children and we see the likes of Pokemon to unicorns, fruit to anim...als and today we saw Minecraft chickens! So far my favourite quote in regards to the beads was said to me earlier this week by Jack "All you need is a board and a little imagination" He couldn't have said it better! #Vacationcare2020 #Cononroadkindergarten

08.01.2022 Due to unforseen circumstances out of our control Bunnings are unable to come out to Conon Road tomorrow for our sustainable living day!!! No fear - the show will go on! The children will have the opportunity to replant some fresh herbs and vegetables as the summer sun has overheated part of our garden! We look forward to our very last week of January school holidays before school resumes on the Monday 3rd February! ... Enjoy the rest of your weekends

07.01.2022 The barriers came down, and the children were excited to play in the long grass (yes it does need a trim). Lots of tigers were seen creeping through the long grass! Later when the after-school care children joined us, they too had fun rolling and playing made up games on the grass. How wonderful it is to engage with mother nature. Have you also seen our amazing veggie garden? The worm juice is doing a fantastic job!

07.01.2022 Welcome to our 2020 birthday chart! Over the last 6 weeks, our educator Megan has undergone an extensive project with the children at Conon Road to create this incredible artwork, piecing together our fabulous Rainbow Serpent from the Dreamtime stories! As you can see, the effort each and every child has put into their work is not only incredible but unique! No two pieces the same as we unify the work to create a larger picture. ... The children have absolutely loved watching their work come to life as it now glides through our birthday chart - you will also notice that our birthdays have been grouped into 6 sections rather than 12 months.... We have seperated the children into the indigenous seasons throughout the year rather than a specific month. We aspire to continue to learn about the rich indigenous culture throughout our time at Conon Road Kindergarten all through our learning journey! So this year we have decided to leave our Christmas get together for the OSHC families until January and instead celebrate the new year with you all! 03.01.2022 Here at Conon Road we're on the push for all families and parents to band with us as we encourage HAND WASHING and SANITISING among everyone as they arrive at the centre. Please be reminded this includes both drop off and collection of children at the service. Parents / Adults ONLY - Ian has kindly installed a hand sanitiser station up on the wall besides our sign in point for your convenience whilst using the iPad - please be sure to use it! Remember that children are far ...more likely to copy what you do, When you demonstrate how important it is that mummies and daddies wash their hands they are inclined to copy and do the same, not only at drop off pick up times but throughout their day with us!!! 03.01.2022 Today the children enjoyed exploring the light and coloured tiles on the light table.

02.01.2022 We had a wonderful time back at Playgroup this morning. The children had lots of fun on the outdoor equipment, playing with the trucks in the sand pit and decorating a fish with wool. It was lovely to have 9 families attend and we look forward to playing again next Monday.
