This week we have a preview of one of the games running at Conquest 2021, Savage Worlds: The Enigma Equation. From small beginnings come great things, sometimes even the fate of an entire star! So it is for a team of JumpCorp freelancers tasked with finding a key researcher gone missing. What’s this lab coat gotten himself mixed up in? The kind of trouble only a scientist can blunder... into when the super-powerful object of his research lies smack in the middle of an ancient artifact, a star-altering equation, and the humorless alien cult that worships it all! The Enigma Equation is an adventure for the Last Parsec, entailing the journey to Tomb in the Omicron cluster and the mysterious Shadow Star. So fire up that star ship and set off for the Omicron cluster, the life of a JumpCorp exploratory team was never meant to be easy. This game and many others will all be running at Conquest 2021. 24.01.2022 To kick things off for online Easter gaming, an invitation from Megan for anyone interested in an online game of Star Wars Sparks, or Seventh Seas this weekend! - - - - - Conquest may not be able to run at Easter, but we don't need to miss out entirely on some gaming time over the coming weekend. If anyone would like to join in on a session, I will run Star Wars Sparks mods (d6) via Zoom at the same time I would have done at Conquest. So this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunda...y at 12:30pm, if you'd like to help the newly formed Rebel Alliance make trouble for the Galactic Empire, PM me - Kitsuki Ryuuko - to book your place. I will email out a Zoom meeting number to all confirmed players the morning of each session. Sessions may take longer than the standard 3 hours, as online version can cause delays, but I hope to finished sometime in the late afternoon. In addition, Leah will run one session of Seventh Seas modules on Saturday night at 7pm. PM me to confirm a place in that one if you'd like join in for a swashbuckling adventure. Places for both games will be limited to 6 people. 23.01.2022 This week the Conquest team would like to share one of the games you can come and play at Conquest 2020. We are proud to announce from a new GM to Conquest, 'Time Without Tide'. Time Without Tide is a role-playing game of discovery. At the height of the Victorian era, the world ends. The moon crashes into the earth, and covers it in a strange fog, which horribly mutates everybody and everything that isnt right next to a source of light. You play as Delvers, heroic, brave, a...nd ultimately doomed explorers of the changed world. Its Jules Verne meets Douglas Adams, with just a touch of the truly sinister. Conquest 2021 will be held over the Easter weekend from the 2nd to the 4th of April 2021. It will be hosted in the Lieutenant room at the Batman Royale Coburg.... Conquest is one of Australia's oldest running games conventions - The first Conquest was in 1989 at the Melbourne Showgrounds! Emily, our mascot, has been a feature of the Conquest poster for a long time. And she has sported many different looks over the years.... We have uncovered the 1998 convention poster from our archives. Back then you would have collected a convention booklet from your local game store, filled in what games you wanted and posted it off. Nowadays we have the luxury of the internet to streamline the process. However, at its core, Conquest is still about people coming together in person to have fun and play games. With the current conditions in Melbourne we have concluded that it is very unlikely that we will be able to host a convention in Melbourne this year. The Conquest team is instead focusing our attention on Conquest 2021 which will be held over Easter at the start of April 2021. We will announce when we are open for game regist...ration. Strike Out! ----- After the Old Government ignored warnings of natural disasters as the result of their corruption, the world was ruined and divided. 6 Factions emerged, and while there is no active fighting, there is little cooperation either. So, if a group of people unite and decide to act, they can make real change!... Make a choice. Change the world. --- Strike Out uses dice pools and 'roll under' resolution, which means no maths! Instead of Hit Points, your character takes Conditions. These are more interesting than a static number, and help drive the story and character in new and interesting ways. In addition, the magic system is spell-less; you don't have to memorise or keep track of anything. Instead, you have a handful of words at your disposal, and however you interpret them is how you cast them! Strike Out also comes with original character choices so you can play vibrant people you've never seen before. 06.01.2022 It is with great regret that the Conquest Team has made the decision to postpone Conquest 2020. With the threat of a global pandemic and limitations being placed on public gatherings we feel that this is the best decision to make given the current climate. We are already looking at other weekends later in 2020 to host our event. Those of you who have already purchased passes for Easter will receive full refunds. We will be contacting those who have purchased tickets via ema...il so please keep an eye on your inbox. We will have more announcements in the future as new plans come together. 06.01.2022 This week Conquest has something a little different to announce. The storytelling card game 'The Secret Prince'. Secret Prince is a storytelling card game for roleplaying newbies and veterans alike. You play a gorgeous brooding hero on the run from their royal lineage. And so do each of your friends! Together you will adventure through a fantasy world you create in search of powerful items, and build a unique, melodramatic tragic backstory for your character. At the end of t...he game whoever has the most tragic backstory will ascend to their rightful place on the throne. Secret Prince is being developed by a Melbourne team, and debuted at Arcanacon 2020 to much acclaim from players. You have the opportunity to help shape the game as it develops! 04.01.2022 Looking for a dose of D&D over the Easter holiday? Well you are in luck because the Adventurers League community will be at Conquest 2020 in force with a pile of modules and team of GM's so the dice can keep rolling all weekend. What is Adventurers League you ask? The D&D Adventurers League is an ongoing official campaign for Dungeons & Dragons. It uses the fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons rules, and features the Forgotten Realms setting. You can play D&D Adventurers League ...games literally anywhere. Players use the fifth edition rules to create a character and bring that character to games anywhere D&D Adventurers League play is happening. So be sure to keep an eye on this page for future announcements about games and player registration. Don't Forget that we have temporarily reopened for game submission so if you have a game of your own you would like to run you have only a short period of time to submit it. Conquest 2020 is a not for profit event run by volunteers.

03.01.2022 This week the Conquest team is showing you a view of the past with a preview of one of the fantastic games running at Conquest 2020, "Dungeons & Dragons,The Black Star Labyrinth". Long ago, the Nomo came from afar and conquered your world. After destroying your heroes and enslaving your gods, they carried back your greatest treasures to their underground fortress the Black Star Labyrinth. Since that time, the interdimensional Nomo empire has collapsed and the Labyrinth lies... abandoned. You will venture into this subterranean maze, braving fiendish traps and strange monsters, to retrieve the stolen treasures of your ancestors. Black Star Labyrinth is a megadungeon in the style of old-school D&D. Players can explore freely within the dungeon and set their own goals. There is no pre-planned story, so no two sessions are alike. Changes in the dungeon are carried over between sessions, so players may find clues left behind by previous adventuring parties. Basic D&D (1983) is one of the earliest editions of Dungeons & Dragons. The rules are relatively simple and easy to learn on the fly. This game will also use Old School Essentials, a new adaptation that maintains the classic rules but with modern information design for smoother play. 02.01.2022 This week the Conquest Team has something a little different to preview. Highlights from the 2019 200 Word RPG Challenge. What is this you may ask? The RPG challenge was a competition to produce a complete RPG with only 200 words... and you get to play the fruits of that competition. A selection of winners and some of the more 'unusual' entries that slipped through the cracks will all be run at the convention. Be prepared to improvise, laugh, and encounter the very weird.... You have likely never played games like these before.
