19.01.2022 So, a funny story! Due to the terrific support we have received I am finally getting some time off as I have employed 2 beautiful ladies Maddy and Noela. Now they have it all together and know exactly when they are working, me on the other hand don’t know what day it is and hop out of bed, get to the shop only to find I could still have been snuggled in bed. Now doing this once might be a funny mistake, 2 days in a row though haha, I’m officially losing the plot. Resulting in the origins of The Plastic Bag Store, one of the centrepieces of the 2021 Adelaide Festival program. ... Its products resemble everyday products tubs of ice cream, mixed salads and fruit and vegetables except they are all made of plastic bags. Plastic bags styled as vegetables in a groceries fridge. The Plastic Bag Store features "vegetables" made of reams of coloured packaging. There are pizzas that offer "hot melty bags in your mouth in minutes" and juice-like cartons of orange plastic bags that offer "only the finest orange plastic bags from Florida delivered to you with love". "I thought I would make a grocery store where everything was made out of plastic bags and packaging, sort of to highlight the ridiculousness and the absurdity of how much packaging is being used and thrown away," Frohardt said. The "store" will be set up in the former Harris Scarfe department store in Rundle Mall during the Adelaide Festival which runs from February 26 to March 14, a great eye-opener for us all to bring awareness to the worlds plastic usage.
