22.01.2022 I am always curious to hear what people see in art/images. Do you see only see the features? The highlights and shadows? The numbers? I feel like that in photography and Instagram many photos are made to be visually exciting, encouraging us all to move towards what looks best. It’s almost a form of brainwashing. Kind of like pop songs that you know every word, but you’ve never owned the album. Or it’s a picture that looks like a post card. ... I think that what is lacking is soul. Deep feeling and honest human emotion. Before you read below take the time to see this image and feel what it is saying. Your interpretation is correct. It’s how you experience it is what’s important. What do you think the story is for this image? I took this photo for my brother. He was born in Newcastle in 1976. He was very good amateur swimmer. It was his birthday and I wanted take a photo that had a story of his life to it. If we put more intention into our work we can invoke more purpose and meaning. Tapping into something that is more real and less superficial. Having the ability to touch people in areas of their heart they may not know existed. That’s what I try and do with every photo I take.

14.01.2022 Etymology. The word vacuum comes from Latin, meaning 'an empty space, void', noun use of neuter of vacuus, meaning "empty", related to vacare, meaning "to be empty". According to present-day understanding of what is called the vacuum state or the quantum vacuum, it is "by no means a simple empty space". According to quantum mechanics, the vacuum state is not truly empty but instead contains fleeting electromagnetic waves and particles that pop into and out of existence. Food for thought.

13.01.2022 One thing I truely love about the ocean is that is constantly moving and continuously pushing towards the shore. It’s persistent in its relationship with the land. The land isn’t moving in a hurry but the water will keep working to get what it wants. Bruce Lee talks about being like water, he says, Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outw...ard things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. Bruce Lee.

10.01.2022 What’s a good thing about hitting rock bottom? As you begin to regain focus from there the only way is up. I love seeing people rise and reaching their potential. Personally I’ve got a long way to go, but I’m rising! I remember watching the @newcastleknights__ play, they dominated @canberraraidershub in the early 2000’s. The biggest lost Canberra have ever received. Knights let a try in and @joey_johns was not happy. The stadium was quiet, @joey_johns said to the boysIt’s... about reaching your f@&king potential!!! He’s right. You’ve got so much capacity to be brilliant and yet we can get caught in a mind-state they hold us back. That’s has stayed with me ever since.

06.01.2022 Hugs should be your daily vitamin. There are many great reasons to become a hugger and to let yourself be hugged. Hugs instantly boost oxytocin levels which decrease stress hormones and heal feelings of loneliness, anger and isolation. Hugs build trust and a sense of safety. Hugs lift one's serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating happiness.... There is nothing quite a like a good hug!
