23.01.2022 A unique request. Can we convert a bedroom into a bathroom and the bathroom into a WIR and ensuite? The bathroom was poorly made with aboveground plumbing, dated with cedar panelling and a low ceiling. Working closely with the customer, we agreed on a new design to maximise space and meet their budget requirements to a high standard. The pitched roof made cuts challenging, cutting and reinforcing the concrete slab to install the new plumbing, was an additional challenge but w...ith our years of experience we completed these tasks to high standards. The customer wanted continuous flow hot water, which would be costly to install and maintain but they had existing solar panels so we proposed a solution to utilise these providing significant savings for the customer. Here we saved my client costs by fitting the new stair treads from the front so the plaster in wardrobe below was unaffected. We also machined f17 timber instead of stair grade vic ash or tassie oak as the treads will be covered with carpet . Stringers will be painted.... 08.01.2022 My Dingley client decided to replace the benchtop with classic beige ( laminex ) to match the rest of the house . The reconstituted granite sink was small but effective . We did this as the house was being prepared for sale on a budget. The existing benchtop was worn and a bad repair in the past left the colour mismatched . The hardware and appliances were aged.... Black hardware was used. Black is the new chrome and works really well with beige. I added a few brackets and increased minimal member sizing as a couple extra $ didnt affect my final quote. 04.01.2022 The client requested sound proofing this large living area. On an extention we built. We installed double glazed window and sliding door, acoustic insulation and soundchek plaster. The one touch cavity slider had a suitable solid door and was also insulated. Expanda foam was used to fill all the gaps. There will be sealing around door when painted.
