23.01.2022 Consul General and Mr. Hazwan Hasnol, Consul had the pleasure to interact with the current and newly arrived Malaysian students in Western Australia during an event organized by the Malaysian Students Council of Australia, Western Australia Chapter (MASCA-WA) on 16 August 2020 at Malaysia Hall Perth. Malaysian student leaders from various Universities in Western Australia led a total of 70 students who participated in the event. The event was scheduled to be held in the firs...t half of year 2020 but was delayed due to the unprecedented health crisis. Due to the easing of restrictions in WA since end of June, it has enabled MASCA-WA to plan in advance and materialize the Meet & Greet event with strict adherence to the standard operating procedures in place. It was indeed an excellent platform for the Consulate General to update fellow students on the latest development in Malaysia-Western Australia and roles of the Consulate General in Western Australia. 22.01.2022 Consulate General of Malaysia, Perth supported the Global Roaming Pilbara Foundation Ltd. of Western Australia (GRPF) in organizing the Celebration of Heritage and Unity fashion event on 19 November 2020 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Perth where Malaysian batik designs and the Western Australia aboriginal arts were presented to the public. The Malaysian premium batik fabrics produced by Malaysian artists were flown in from Malaysia by Mr. Diar Iskandar Sukor, Founder and Owner o...f Batik Village Malaysia exclusively to promote and showcase the distinctiveness of Malaysian batik heritage and arts in partnership with GRPF. GRPF, a non-profit organisation has been working with the community of Roebourne, located in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, to provide young indigenous community to realise their full potential by building self-confidence through the art of modelling. The talented indigenous youth models who presented the Malaysian premium batik fabrics and Western Australia indigenous arts were from the Girls Group Programme, administered by GRPF. The fashion event was successfully officiated by the Honourable Ken Wyatt AM MP, Minister for Indigenous Australians, representative from the Western Australia State Government, Consular Corps in Western Australia, professionals, Malaysian diaspora and friends of Malaysia in Western Australia among others. The Consulate General of Malaysia, Perth is optimistic that the Celebration of Heritage and Unity event, with the attendance of approximately 150 guests, has created an excellent platform for the Perth multicultural community to get together and appreciate the rich cultural diversity reflected through the hand-made fabrics designed by Malaysian and Western Australian artists as well as in promoting people-to-people connections between the two nations. 21.01.2022 Salam Maal Hijrah daripada kami di Konsulat Jeneral Malaysia, Perth. Tema sambutan Maal Hijrah di Malaysia pada 2020M/1442H ialah Ummah Rabbani, Negara Harmoni. Pemilihan tema ini mengandungi 3 komponen utama iaitu pembangunan modal insan, pembudayaan ilmu dan pengukuhan pengurusan yang membawa maksud bahawa apabila ketiga-tiga komponen ini dihimpunkan ia akan membentuk sebuah negara yang harmoni. Tema ini juga selari dengan maksud Hijrah yang membawa pengertian yang begitu mendalam buat umat Islam di Malaysia khususnya dan dunia umumnya. Semoga dengan tibanya tahun baru Hijrah kali ini dapat membawa perubahan dalam diri kita untuk berhijrah kepada sesuatu yang lebih baik dalam kehidupan.

21.01.2022 Consul General of Malaysia in his capacity as the new Chair of the ASEAN Working Group in Western Australia (WA) hosted the first ASEAN Networking Lunch on 8 July 2020. Few joint programs throughout the year 2020 and 2021 have been discussed particularly the upcoming 53rd anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Perth, WA. The networking lunch was attended by the Consul General of Indonesia who is also the Dean of Consular Corps in WA, Consul General of Vietnam, Honorary Consul for Thailand and the newly appointed Honorary Consul for the Philippines.

15.01.2022 Eid-ul Adha is an occasion celebrated by Muslims all over the world to mark the success of Muslims who have fulfilled the fifth pillar of Islam, the Hajj and to commemorate the sacrifices and devotion demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim AS to the Almighty. While embracing the new normal amid the pandemic, Eid-ul Adha prayer and small scale gathering this year has been organized at the Malaysia Hall on 31 July in collaboration with Education Malaysia. The event was celebrated in moderation with the Malaysian business and social communities while adhering to the standard operating procedures and health guidelines in place to ensure the safety of attendees gracing the event.

The event was organised by the Australia Malaysia Business Chamber Western Australia (AMBCWA) in collaboration with the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) of Western Australia and saw the participation of top officials from the Western Australia State Government, its key agencies and Malaysia-Australia business communiti...es. Mr. Richard Sellers, Director General of JTSI; Professor Gordon Flake, Chief Executive Officer of the Perth USAsia Centre, Mr. Michael Carter, Head of International Trade and Investment, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia graced the event with their presence. The Report produced is an important stepping-stone for the businesses and investors of both sides to plan forward for business and economic recovery through the next phase of the pandemic. 05.01.2022 [ANNOUNCEMENT: Latest Requirements to travel to Malaysia (Citizen/PR/Non-Citizens) AS OF 23/7/2020] Effective 24 July 2020, all travellers to Malaysia (Citizen/PR/Non-Citizens) MUST undergo compulsory 14-Day Quarantine at designated Government Quarantine Centres. ALL returning travellers are required to pay the cost (RM150 per day) of the Quarantine set by the Government. Apart from that, all travellers must fill in Letter of Undertaking (LoU) which can be download at this l...ink https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/track and email to [email protected] at least three (3) days before departure date. The Consulate will then issue a travel notice to enter Malaysia via email. You must bring together LoU and the travel notice to ease your journey back to Malaysia. 02.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: PCR COVID-19 TEST REQUIREMENT TO ENTER MALAYSIA Consulate General of Malaysia in Perth wishes to advise all returning Malaysians & non-Malaysians (with approved exemption) that effective 20 July 2020, following are the requirements for entry into Malaysia as announced by the Malaysian Government:... Malaysians and non-Malaysians (with approved exemption) need to present a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test for entry into Malaysia. The negative test has to be of 3-days validity to the date of departure to Malaysia. The negative test report must be in English. They have to undergo 14-day quarantine at home or a hotel. They must have downloaded and activated the MySejahtera App upon entry into Malaysia (https://mysejahtera.malaysia.gov.my/intro_en/). They are still subject to COVID-19 testing upon landing at KLIA (a positive test will result in hospitalisation).
