18.01.2022 ? Self-love is a continual work in progress for me. It’s not a practice that came easily or quickly to me, but bit-by-bit, my self-love is slowly growing and it’s getting easier to show kindness and compassion to myself. No matter where you sit on the ‘self-love’ scale, this is something you can start growing (or continue to work on) TODAY! Yep you read that right - today! ... Here are a few starter ideas Set aside a little time each week and spend it doing something you LOVE. Something that brings you joy. It could be enjoying a cold ice cream outside, reading in a comfy chair, or visiting your local flower marketor anything else you’d enjoy! Let yourself rest and recuperate when you need to. Can you find five minutes in your day to do a guided meditation? Could you have a mini nap on the weekend? Breathe, relax and feel restored. Create a mantra for yourself as a reminder of just how worthy, amazing and beautiful you are. Maybe something like I love myself and am so proud of the person I am. Even if you don’t believe it, saying this in the mirror a few times a day will build up your self-love before you know it! Here’s another idea for the vintage music fans out there I am strong. 08.01.2022 Better late than never If 2020 taught me one great lesson, it was that life quite often goes in a completely different direction than we think it will and most of the time, there is absolutely nothing we can do about that! The best part? In the end, the universe seems to have a way of making things right (or even better) if we are patient and willing to evolve along the way. Having a launch party all booked in and ready to roll for the 26th of March 2020, I c...ould have never foreseen the way that last year would have panned out. At the time, I felt frustrated and deflated and SO uncertain about where my little events business would end up. But, instead of pulling up stumps or letting go the idea completely, I just put it to one side and waited until this little biz was ready to be launched into the world with the pizazz it deserved! So, I am now to announce that The Contentment Company events (with my new gorgeous styling/creative queen teammate Elle on board and all!) will be launched with the appropriate amount of sparkling wine on the evening of - yep, exactly a year later. This date is special to me as it’s my Poppy Tom’s birthday and I just know in my bones that him and my Gran are always cheering me on from afar. If you are in Brisbane, please mark this date in your calendars, as we would LOVE to see you at our launch party!
