24.01.2022 The image below is from a study where egg-laying hens of four groups were fed either Astaxanthin or nothing as the control group. The Astaxanthin fed groups were accurately measured to include either 1g, 3g, or 5g of Astaxanthin into the daily diets. Eggs from each group were cracked upon collection every five days and the yolks were given scores between eleven and fifteen or greater than fifteen upon their color.... Not only was there an obvious change in color of yolk but something that cannot be demonstrated by this image is the strength of the yolk membrane. 18.01.2022 EQUINE CORONAVIRUS - What Will Happen? Lately we can’t turn on a tv or pick up a newspaper without the main story headlining the recent worldwide outbreaks of the Coronavirus. A hot topic in the equine world at the moment is, Can a horse contract the virus? The answer is yes! Equine Coronavirus (ECoV) displays different symptoms to the human Coronavirus. The human Coronavirus usually starts out as a mild upper respiratory issue and then progresses from there, whereas horses... do not show any signs of discomfort in the upper respiratory. When a horse has contracted ECoV they will show one or some of the following symptoms: Soft and water like faeces Anorexia Elevated temperature Lethargy Circling in the stable, seizures, head pressing Colic Scott Weese, DVM, MSc, Dipl. ACVIM, who is a professor in the Department of Pathobiology at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College, in Canada has stated, Horses become infected with ECoV by ingesting the virus that was shed in the faeces of another horse. Prior to the recent human outbreaks of Coronavirus there have been diagnosed cases of ECoV throughout the USA, Europe and Japan dating back as early as 2011. Recently the Japan Turf Club banned the attendance of all spectators to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. I applaud the Japan Turf Club for taking this measure regardless of the financial impact they will experience as they are well known for enormous attendances by the local public. So what does this mean for the upcoming Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo later this year? I guess we have to wait and see. If you own or witness a horse displaying any of the above listed symptoms please isolate the animal and contact and report these indications to your regular veterinarian as soon as possible. In my opinion we all have a part to play in reducing the risk of spreading this virus. Not only do we need to respect and value our own personal health but also the health of our beloved animals.

11.01.2022 We would like to congratulate all of the Matthew Dunn Racing team for a sensational winning performance with Gracie Bell in the Country Championships Final on Saturday. Matthew has been a proud supporter and user of our Pro-Perform supplement now for well over the last six months. Gracie Bell's huge win coming from way back in the field backs up his testimony that he recently made about the Pro-Perform supplement.

11.01.2022 Here at Contento Animal Health we believe in the research required to develop a product must be done on that specific specie which the product is destined for. For example a certain ingredient may not have the same effect on a horse or cow as what it does in human research and evidence. This is largely due to the different biological make-ups and internal processes. The Pro-Perform supplement was designed on the back of thousands of hours of equine veterinary research. After... developing the product, we then organized multiple in-house trials to allow us to collect before and after data to see if these effects coincided with the published data from our research. We found that the effects of the Pro-Perform were not only similar to what was published in the controlled studies but even more effective. Of course many variables still existed and continue to exist but from the feedback, we receive regularly is to the same effect of what we witnessed in our in-house trials before launching the Pro-Perform. The data collected from these before and after trials and regular feedback gave us great confidence to proceed with the patenting process for the Pro-Perform supplement.

Very similar effects of what is explained in this video are also becoming evident in animal science. Some of these effects which have been proven to date include enhancing liver function and antioxidant activity in dogs and cats.
